Fighting fans are stunned by the incredible moment former two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas knocked off a fake eyelash from her opponent Tracy Cortez.

Namajunas carved secured her second straight victory in the 125lbs on Sunday (AEST) in the main event at UFC Denverwhere she showed all the skills that made her a champion.

It was Cortez’s first loss in the octagon. One dramatic moment from the match has gone viral.

Early in the fight, Cortez took a left hook from “Thug Rose,” followed by a right cross that grazed her face and sent her fake eyelashes flying across the ring.

As expected, MMA fans were quick to notice this detail and reported it on social media.

‘False lashes in the octagon? I wore them to my son’s wedding but…’ one fan posted.

“LOL why does she even wear fake eyelashes during a fight?!!,” posted another.

“I can’t take this seriously anymore, the rest of the fight is just about trying to take the other out. Nothing else matters,” joked a third.

Things didn’t improve much for Cortez from there. Namajunas dominated the match for the next 25 minutes and won on points.

It’s been a tough week for Cortez, who had to take drastic measures to make weight after failing on his first attempt.

The 30-year-old didn’t hesitate to cut off her long hair to get under the 57 kilo limit, after having already lost one kilo.

“I have no doubts,” Cortez told Sportsnet afterward. “I’m going to do whatever it takes.”

It worked, as she officially weighed in at 126 pounds on the dot. Cortez then posed for the cameras, holding her cut hair in her hand.

Namajunas spoke to the media after the bout about a possible shot at the flyweight title.

“I had a vision: I want to fight in Lithuania one day,” Namajunas said, referring to the country where her parents were born.

‘Bring the UFC to Lithuania and I would love to beat Manon again [Fiorot] or someone else for the belt, whatever.

“That’s my dream come true, but whatever the UFC has in mind is fine with me too.”
