New Microsoft services could help to eliminate cybersecurity problems at the source

Microsoft Defender for Cloud now has two new features designed to improve DevOps platform management and understanding cloud security attitudes.
The first, Microsoft Defender for DevOps, is a centralized platform designed to manage security across several DevOps environments simultaneously, helping businesses prioritize critical code issues and secure applications as they build.
Another new feature, Microsoft Defender Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), will build on Defender’s “existing [security posture insight] capabilities” to help companies identify the resources most vulnerable to attacks.

Simply put, Microsoft Defender CSPM will inform IT administrators about where their infrastructure is vulnerable to attacks, while Microsoft Defender for DevOps will make it easier and faster for them to manually respond to untapped vulnerabilities or active threats.
The company claims that Defender CSPM’s “agentless scanning capabilities” will save IT teams time by enabling them to integrate insights from Defender for DevOps to monitor only the most critical risks to critical infrastructure.
This should make life easier for IT administrators; Microsoft believes that the two services working together can reduce recommendation noise “up to 99%”.
These two new features follow the release of Microsoft Defender External Attack Surface Management (EASM) earlier this year, which aims to alert IT teams to unprotected endpoints throughout their organization. For automatic patch managementthat can neutralize some of these vulnerabilities, IT teams can look to Azure.
The new features are now available through the Microsoft Defender for Cloud dashboard.
