The first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World returns to the political thriller vibe of the series and reveals a major new character
The teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has fallen, and aside from the exciting glimpses of Samuel Wilson (Anthony Mackie) – who we finally see take over the role of Captain America from Steve Rogers – there’s an even bigger reveal at the end that you don’t want to miss.
It’s Harrison Ford, but like you’ve never seen him before. In the final seconds of the trailer (see below), we get a small clip of the Red Hulk smashing Cap’s shield (as Hulks do). The actor makes his Marvel debut playing the human Thaddeus Ross, who is also the President of the United States and who we’ll be seeing to assume will transform into the Red Hulk.
The Marvel Phase 5 film is the fourth installment in the Captain America franchise. Fortunately, Marvel was a bit more creative and didn’t choose ‘Captain America 4’ as a title. In this film, US President Ross negotiates the role that Captain America can play in the military.
Looking at the trailer, Captain America: Brave New World will be similar to the CAptain America: The Winter Soldier, which struck more of a political thriller tone than the usual blockbuster superhero action films we know Marvel for.
Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters in February 2025. While you wait, check out our picks for the best Marvel movies . Not sure where to start? Here’s how to watch the Marvel movies to prepare you for the next chapter.
