Former NFL star’s LA home burglarized after thieves ‘smashed through a rear window and ransacked the property’

Former Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr’s Los Angeles home was reportedly ransacked by thieves on Friday.

TMZ Sport claims that Barr, who is currently a free agent after his recent stint with the Vikings, was not at the property when three men smashed a rear window and broke in around 2 a.m.

It is believed that security cameras had already captured the thieves before the police were alerted, but it was only when the officers arrived that they discovered that the thieves had already fled.

It is unclear what was stolen during the robbery. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Barr is one of several public figures to have been victims of a burglary in LA in recent times, along with American actor and comedian Marlon Wayans and former NBA star Paul Pierce.

The 32-year-old played nine years in the NFL after an impressive college career at UCLA. He was selected ninth overall by the Vikings in the 2014 draft.

The first time he played in Minnesota, he played for eight seasons, making 98 appearances and was selected to the Pro Bowl four times between 2015 and 2018.

After being released in 2022, Barr signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, but was not re-signed after his first and only season was plagued by injuries.

The Indiana native returned to Minnesota for the practice squad in November and was added to the active roster a month later, but left for a second time after failing to show up.

It remains to be seen whether Barr will be picked up by a new team for the 2024-25 season, with the Green Bay Packers reportedly eyeing the former Vikings player this offseason.
