Awkward reunion? CBS golf reporter Amanda Balionis jets off to Scotland to join Rory McIlroy – and his wife Erica Stoll
CBS golf reporter Amanda Balionis is thrilled to be traveling to North Berwick for the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open, where she will be reunited with Rory McIlroy.
On Thursday, Balionis took to Instagram to express her excitement about covering the tournament. Wearing a brown Alo cap and sweater, the reporter took a selfie with her stamped passport.
“See you soon, North Berwick,” she wrote with a heart emoji, tagging the Scottish Open.
The match will span the final two days of the tournament, which runs from July 11-14, and could be the first time Balionis has faced McIlroy in public since rumors of a possible affair surfaced.
However, the decision comes after McIlroy called off a divorce and reconciled with his wife Erica Stoll, who was seen on court at the start of the tournament supporting her husband.

Her assignment follows rumours of a flirtation with Rory McIlroy during the RBC Canadian Open
The last time Balionis interviewed McIlroy was at the RBC Canadian Open in June, following his high-profile divorce from Stoll in May. Speculation about a possible romance between them arose from their seemingly flirtatious interviews.
Now that McIlroy has called it quits with Stoll, fans continue to spread the story, as Balionis, who is married to former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner, was also noticeably not wearing her wedding ring amid the rumors.
However, the rumors that surfaced during the interviews, such as the smiles and giggles, turned out to be nothing more than fan fiction.
After declaring their marriage over and filing for divorce, McIlroy called it quits to resolve their differences for their family. The golfer would later address the inevitable rumors about his personal life.

“There have been rumors about my private life lately, which is unfortunate. Responding to every rumor is a fool’s game,” he said.
“Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future as a family is together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and are looking forward to a new beginning.”
