Aussie foodie tries McDonald’s in Bali for the first time and has a lot to say about the $14 feast

A young Australian woman left her fans ‘drooling’ after she shared a video of the surprise three-course meal she ordered at McDonalds in Bali.

Fitness coach Bec Hardgrave, 28, from Brisbane was excited to try Maccas for the first time in Bali.

Bec relaxed in her hotel bathrobe and unpacked a delivery bag filled with menu items you would never expect to find at a McDonalds in Australia.

The whole party cost her 146,000 Indonesian rupiah, which is about 14 Australian dollars.

Bec wowed Australians when she unwrapped a mysterious-looking black burger.

The Mac and Cheese Beef burger, which is not available in Australia, features a slice of breaded macaroni and cheese on an Australian beef patty, spread with stroganoff sauce and on a bun with black sesame seeds.

“But it’s actually quite tasty,” Bec said after biting into it.

“This bun is so soft and fresh,” she said.

After that she ate some 'panas', a meal of fried chicken and rice

After this she ate ‘panas’ from McDonalds, a meal of fried chicken and rice, with small packets of McDonalds chili sauce.

The generous portion consisted of two large pieces of fried chicken, a drumstick and a chicken fillet.

“This is really great. I feel like McDonalds in Bali is much fresher than in Australia,” she said.

“This could compete with KFC chicken.”

Bec pulled a pained face as the spiciness of the sauce began to smell.

“Yes, that is a bit exciting,” she said.

She washed down the chili with a cup of fruit-lemon tea.

The chocolate caramel cake for dessert was a bit too sweet for Bec, who didn’t rate it.

Australians who have visited Indonesia agree that Maccas in Bali is much fresher.

“The Australian Maccas need to do better,” said one fan.

Others said that it’s not just McDonalds that is better in Bali.

According to most Australian tourists, the Indonesian branches of international fast food chains were much fresher and better than the branches in Australia.

“The KFC chicken in Bali is elitist,” agreed one Australian.

Others thought Bec was ‘living on the edge’ by eating Indonesian fast food.

But she showed no signs of the dreaded Bali Belly and even went to McDonalds in Thailand for the first time.

Bec regularly shares tips online on how to improve your Maccas experience in Australia.

One of her favorite tricks for improving your McDonald’s burger is asking the staff to “steam” your bun.

She promises that this will make the buns ‘big and airy’ and the burgers extra tasty.
