NBA2K25 cover star is REVEALED – with a WNBA player to feature on special edition cover for the first time

The cover stars of NBA 2K25 have been revealed.
The coveted awards were presented to a current NBA star, a WNBA star and a retired Hall of Famer.
Last year’s issues featured the late Kobe Bryant on the cover, a nod to his number 24, and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty.
This year, Celtics star Jayson Tatum will be on the cover of the standard edition, Las Vegas Aces legend A’ja Wilson will be on the WNBA edition, and both will be on the special All-Star edition.
It marks the first time in history that a WNBA player has appeared in a non-WNBA edition of the game.

Former Toronto Raptors sensation Vince Carter will be a guest at the Hall of Fame edition.
“Being on the cover of NBA 2K25 is a huge moment for me and a testament to the WNBA’s ever-growing fan base,” A’ja Wilson said in a press release.
“It’s encouraging to see more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league, and I can’t wait for fans to experience this in-game,” Wilson continued.
Tatum and Wilson were key players on their teams in winning the last few NBA and WNBA titles.
“It’s an honor to be named the cover athlete for NBA 2K25,” Jayson Tatum said via press release. “I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s a dream to one day be on the cover. Even after an NBA Championship, it’s humbling to see this come to life.”
The game will be released worldwide on September 6 and will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
While the standard edition has unlimited distribution, the WNBA Edition is a GameStop exclusive and will only be available with physical copies for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also only be available in North America.
