Nicole Kidman co-star reveals Aussie actress’s gruelling workout regimen: ‘It was so intense’
Joey King opens up about filming her new Netflix hit A Family Affair.
Joey, 24, was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and spoke enthusiastically about what she learned from her costars Zac Efron, 36, and Nicole Kidman, 57, and how the experience turned her into a gym-goer.
“They’re both so beautiful and they’re the fittest people I’ve ever met, so I was inspired by them. So I became a bit of a, you know, tubular gym rat on set,” she confessed.
“She (Nicole) taught me the most epic, horrible butt workout I’ve ever learned in my life. It was so intense,” she said.
Joey admitted she struggled to keep up with the Oscar winner.
“I thought, ‘I’m a little boy. I can hang… I’m agile.’ I thought I could hang, but I couldn’t,” King admitted.
“It was all those donkey steps, the rainbows and, you know, the fire hydrants.”
“But you have to keep your leg up for 12 years. It’s so hard,” she continued.

Kidman previously shared her fitness tips during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, explaining, “Variety is the best way [to become fit] I have found.’
She added: ‘If you think you’re going to run five miles every morning for the rest of your life, after a week you’ll get bored and hit the snooze button.
‘That’s why I try to combine it with sports, running, yoga and even just walking with my husband and the kids.’
A Family Affair dropped on Netflix on June 28, but Nicole recently revealed that the age-gap romantic comedy originally had a much more explicit title.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Joey raved about what she learned from her costars Zac Efron, 36, and Nicole Kidman, 57, and revealed how the experience transformed her into a gym fanatic. All pictured
She recently revealed to People: ‘Originally it had a different title. It was called Motherf***er. Squeaked out. Somehow that didn’t make it onto the Netflix title.’
But Zac said the bold title drew people’s attention to the script, adding: “It kept the script at the top of the pile. It’s like, what the hell can this be about?”
Nicole and Zac’s on-screen reunion has been eagerly anticipated, having previously starred as lovers in the 2012 crime drama The Paperboy.
However, their new romantic comedy has divided viewers, with fans expecting more steamy scenes and romantic action in the film.
“They’re both so hot and they’re the fittest people I’ve ever met, so I was inspired by them. So I kind of became a, you know, tubular gym rat on set,” she confessed.
