Ringo Starr reveals why Taylor Swift could achieve bigger success than THE BEATLES – and it’s nothing to do with her talents

Ringo Starr has revealed why Taylor Swift’s career could be even bigger than The Beatles’: she can hear herself perform.

The world-famous drummer, 84, compared the singer’s dominance to that of Beatlemania, a phenomenon that gripped the world in the 1960s that saw the Beatles rise from an unknown quartet in Liverpool to global megastars.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com at his birthday and Peace & Love event on July 7, Ringo said he is confident Taylor, 34, has what it takes to surpass the historic milestones he achieved alongside John Lennon, Sir Paul McCartney and George Harrison.

“Of course, a lot of people go crazy when you come on stage,” he said. “The difference is that now she can hear what she’s doing.

“We couldn’t hear what we were doing because we were on the house PA, you know? We had the house PA.”

He gave the Cruel Summer singer a big pat on the back, adding: “She’s a beautiful person. I ran into her and her mom at the Grammys or something. So I know her. God bless her. She’s doing great.”

When asked if he had any advice for Taylor as she enters the next decade of her career, Ringo replied, “I don’t think she needs my advice.

“She’s doing pretty well already. Thank you.”

Beatlemania broke out in the United States following The Beatles’ appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964. This performance is credited with spreading the band’s ecstatic, fan-driven culture from the United Kingdom to America.

During the 1960s, Beatlemania became the name for the fanaticism that followed them as their popularity grew, with crowds joining them wherever they went.

In the weeks leading up to their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, radio stations played the band’s music almost non-stop and fans prepared for a huge influx of fans.

When the plane landed at Kennedy International Airport in New York on February 7, The Beatles were greeted by a huge crowd.

The Ed Sullivan Show performance was the highlight of their 15-day tour of the United States, drawing an estimated 73 million viewers nationwide. It is now considered a turning point in culture.

Following the success, the band returned in August 1964 for a month-long tour of the US and Canada, performing in a stadium for the first time in their history.

While The Beatles are considered one of the most influential bands of all time, there’s no denying that Taylor’s continued success could bring competition.

Last week, the Pennsylvania-born singer tied her personal best on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The singer achieved her eleventh week at number one on the charts with her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, Billboard reported on Sunday.

That means she has spent the longest time at number one on the charts, after her previous LPs 1989 and Fearless also spent 11 weeks at number one.

If her hugely popular albums continue, this will be her longest consecutive run at the top of the album charts.

According to the publication, the last album by a woman to spend 11 weeks at number one was 1989. The album also achieved this feat in 2014 and 2015, but not two weeks in a row.

But the last time a woman topped the chart for the same number of consecutive weeks was in late 1992 and early 1993, when Whitney Houston topped the Billboard 200 chart for 11 straight weeks with her soundtrack to The Bodyguard.

The popular song ultimately spent no less than 20 weeks at number one.

Although The Beatles have more chart-topping hits than any other artist, Taylor is not far behind.

The Beatles scored 20 number one hits during their global domination, including hits such as I Want to Hold Your Hand and Yesterday.

Taylor, on the other hand, has a total of 12 number 1 hits to her name, including Cruel Summer and Fortnight.

Seven of these number one hits came in the last five years of her career.

In October, it was reported that Taylor’s lucrative Eras Tour would earn her an estimated $4.1 billion.

The tour began on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona and will conclude on December 8, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada, after 152 shows across five continents.

In December, it became the first tour to surpass $1 billion in grosses, with 4.35 million tickets sold over 60 tour dates.

As a result, Taylor has pumped billions more into the American economy. The massive production has led to extensive travel, ticket sales and merchandising opportunities for her legions of “Swifties.”

Taylormania reached new heights over the past year thanks to her much-publicized relationship with 34-year-old NFL player Travis Kelce.

Both big names in their respective industries, the two have been dominating headlines since their romance in May last year, with the love-struck couple drawing worldwide attention.

The lovebirds are currently making the most of their time together as she travels around the UK and Europe on her world tour, with him returning to the Chiefs training camp on July 21.

And Taylor’s success shows no signs of slowing down, despite some of her fans, aka “Swifties,” expressing fatigue over her continued chart dominance and seemingly endless release of TTPD variations — of which there are currently over 30.

Pop fanatics recently suspected that her record label had used tactics to prevent Charli XCX’s Brat from topping the UK album charts.

Rumors of behind-the-scenes tension between Taylor and Billie Eilish had previously surfaced after Taylor released two “special” editions of TTPD on the same day Billie released Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The move even prompted Billie’s manager Danny Rukasin to reshare – and later delete – a tweet that accused Taylor of “breaking her neck by doing everything she can to stop other artists from shining.”
