Newcastle United are set to appoint Peter Silverstone as Chief Commercial Officer as their off-field rebuild gains momentum.
He spent seven years at Arsenal, four of which in a senior commercial position, and before that he was director of business development.
Silverstone will be tasked with improving Newcastle’s commercial revenues as they try to compete with the world’s best clubs and push the boundaries of FFP.
Newcastle United have made another appointment off the pitch as they continue their rebuilding

His arrival follows the appointments of sporting director Dan Ashworth and chief executive Darren Eales.
The Magpies announced on May 30 that they had reached an agreement with Ashworth’s former employers Brighton to release him from his contract following his resignation in February. His appointment was approved by the Premier League in early June.
Ashworth, who has been appointed by Amanda Staveley’s consortium to oversee the club’s ‘overarching sports strategy, football development and recruitment at all age levels’, is working closely with head coach Eddie Howe, academy manager Steve Harper and head of recruitment Steve Nickson.
He helped oversee a £123m spend surge over the summer, including the £63m imprisonment of highly regarded Swedish striker Alexander Isak.
