I’m 35 and look like a teenager – my secret is avoiding the sun and never drinking alcohol

A 35-year-old man has revealed the anti-aging habits that make him look 20 years younger and leave strangers constantly mistaking him for a ‘teenager’.

Brandon Miles May, a medical writer based in Detroit, Michigan, claims that his secret to staying youthful is to stay out of the sun and avoid alcohol.

He also says his wrinkle-free skin is due to the fact that he doesn’t “do heavy sports” and that he enjoys the “feeling” of being young.

Brandon also attributes his looks to his diet, explaining that he lives off a healthy selection of fresh fruits, plant foods and fish, which still makes him feel as young as he did 10 years ago.

In addition to the physical exertion, the 35-year-old is convinced that his mental attitude plays an important role in his youthful appearance.

He explained: ‘I attribute not drinking to my youthful appearance. It really embodies the feeling of youth. I think it has helped. I think and see myself as young.’

Brandon’s Tips for Staying Youthful

– Stay out of the sun and protect your skin with UV protective clothing

– Wear SPF daily

– Eat berries like blueberries, blackberries and raspberries – which he says have anti-inflammatory properties

– Eat fish with low mercury content, such as sardines, which are packed with Omega-3

– Eat organic fruits and vegetables

– Avoid carbohydrates, sugar and grains

– Avoid alcohol

Brandon claims that not only has he never touched a sip of alcohol, but he has kept his skin out of the sun his entire life.

“I stay out of the sun my whole life,” he said. “I wear a hoodie to block the sun and I use physical coverings on the back of my hands.”

Brandon has been taking care of his skin since he was 13 years old and has done everything he can to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

His years of fascination with health and biohacking methods have led him to employ a number of preventative techniques to maintain his wrinkle-free appearance.

Brandon, also a social media content creator, said: ‘When I go to airport security, they ask me how old I am. They look twice.

‘People estimate my age in different ways, but it could also be 15 or 16 or 18 or 19.

“I’ve never had a job done. What I do is pretty simple but effective.”

Brandon, who also runs a medical communications company, has always had a passion for healthy eating.

At the age of 15, he began changing his diet, including eating green tea and eating more plant-based foods.

And at age 19, he cut out sugars, grains and carbohydrates and now eats only organic foods and lots of low-mercury fish.

He said: ‘At the age of 13 I started to become aware of the benefits of longevity and anti-aging.

‘At that time I was very concerned with nutrition and keeping my body young.’

Brandon also finds it important to exercise, but he doesn’t do anything ‘heavy’ so as not to put too much strain on his body.

He said: ‘I don’t do a whole lot of exercise. Too much exercise can put stress on the body – it can age the body.

‘I exercise moderately and calmly: a walk, yoga and some strength training.’

Brandon says he “invests” time in himself, but emphasizes that his lifestyle isn’t about living forever, but about keeping his body healthy for as long as possible.

He added: ‘I want to feel good. Feeling young is part of looking young. Living forever is not a priority. It’s about keeping my health.

“I think I look better than I did ten years ago. I feel young physically and emotionally. I think the body follows the mind.”

Brandon said strangers think his lifestyle must be “exhausting,” but he says it’s easy to follow. And he still eats treats like chocolate.

He added: ‘I eat chocolate every day. I have 92 to 100 percent cacao. It’s super bitter.

“I’m also pretty flexible. When I go out to eat, I’ll have some bread and olive oil.”
