Joe Biden plays it cool at Pennsylvania ice cream social – just hours after the President was seen looking nervous in Philadelphia church

Joe Biden, notorious for his love of ice cream, hosted an event where voters in Pennsylvania indulged in the frozen, sweet treat, in an effort to appeal to the state’s population, which is struggling with declining public opinion.

After a church service and a visit to a campaign office in Philadelphia on Sunday morning, Biden made a final stop for ice cream in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to conclude his day in the crucial state.

“Folks, if I may, I’m going to find out if we have ice cream,” Biden muttered. “You know, isn’t it kind of boring when you have a president who’s known for two things — Ray Bans and chocolate chip ice cream?”

Some attendees at the outdoor event found the president’s comments painful to hear.

“If I stand here long enough, all those people in the back are going to die of heatstroke,” Biden said. “I’m not going to do that.”

Earlier Sunday, Biden attended services at the predominantly black Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ in Philadelphia. At several points during the service, the president appeared confused or dazed.

“Let us stand strong together,” the pastor said at one point during a song of praise and worship.

Biden looked around blankly and nearly stood up several times before deciding to join the crowd after 30 seconds.

The Mt. Airy pastor delivered a sermon praising the president amid calls to remove him for another candidate.

He even suggested that Biden’s previous event, where he was scheduled to speak to union members, was canceled because of the strike, because God had planned for the president to come to their church on Sunday.

“God, who is in control, has interfered with the president’s agenda,” Bishop Felton said in his homily. “He was supposed to speak at a conference earlier today. But God knew that President Biden needed some love. And God sent him here today so that we can show him — come on, let’s show him some love.”

“President Biden, you’re not just among friends, you’re among family.”

He assured Biden: “We didn’t come to beat you, to belittle you, to criticize you, to magnify your flaws or your mistakes. We came to love you. We love you, President.”

Biden stumbled and mumbled during the debate with Donald Trump on June 27 in Atlanta, Georgia.

And now there are growing calls for Biden to abandon his re-election campaign and let someone else run on the Democratic ticket in November.

“I don’t know why you want to make an issue of the president and his stuttering condition, and the fact that he can’t get his words out at certain times,” Felton said. “When another person is lying fluently and you never challenge his lies.”

“People are jealous of you,” the pastor said. “Jealous of your tenacity. Jealous of your favor. Jealous of God’s hand in your life.”
