The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay’s estranged husband Bryan Abasolo reveals the text he sent her before filing for divorce

Bryan Abasolo shared the text message he sent to Rachel Lindsay last year before filing for divorce.

As the estranged couple battled through their divorce, the 44-year-old chiropractor filed a new filing, denying that he had filed for divorce but saying he had informed her in an abrupt text message.

Earlier this year, in January, it was announced that Abasolo filed for divorce on December 31, 2023. He cited “irreconcilable differences” and asked for spousal support.

Previously, The Bachelorette’s vet, who competed on The Bachelor’s 21st season and starred in the spinoff series’ 13th season, claimed she was “shocked” when she found out he had officially filed a police report via a text message he sent her as he was leaving their home.

“About 30 minutes after he left the house, he texted me and just said, ‘Hey… I just wanted to let you know that I officially filed a report,” the reality TV personality, 39, said in a June 26 criminal complaint.

Bryan Abasolo shared the text he sent to Rachel Lindsay last year before filing for divorce. Amid the estranged couple’s bitter divorce battle, the chiropractor, 44, filed a new filing denying he had filed for divorce before abruptly telling her in an email

Even though she knew they were “breaking up and heading for divorce,” she said she was surprised and responded, “Wait, what?”

However, Abasolo denied her claims and defended himself in a new document, stating that Lindsay – to whom he was married for four years – was not really “surprised or shocked.”

She ‘[failed] to reveal that he had sent her a text message expressing his intentions to take their separation to “the next step” and file for divorce, he said in new court documents obtained by People.

In the recent filing, he provided the text message he sent her, which read: “Rachel, you coming into the room because I didn’t respond to your text within the allotted time and then raising your voice because you didn’t get the answer you wanted right away is the kind of one-sided, controlling side of our relationship that has brought us to this point.”

The message continued: ‘My inability to communicate, as you call it, is to prevent these kinds of reactions.

“It often feels like you have to have what you want without regard to the state of mind I’m in,” he added in his text message to Lindsay, according to the outlet.

“I’m sorry I didn’t respond to your text, but honestly, I don’t want to be the butt of your gibberish anymore,” he texted then. “I don’t want to be here any longer than I have to. I want to get some of my self-respect back.

“Please keep future communications in writing (paper, email, text) to avoid additional friction as we move to the next step,” the lengthy text continued.

“We can speak in the future in the presence of a neutral party or something,” the message concluded. “Right now I just can’t. I haven’t been able to for a while. With respect. Good night.”

Abasolo also argued in his latest filing that Lindsay’s offer of nearly $10,000 in spousal support is not sufficient.

According to TMZ, he “needs more” than $9,882 a month because it’s not enough to cover his expenses, which he says are “draining” his bank account.

Furthermore, he claimed that the $10,000 a month did not meet the standard of living during their marriage.

The now estranged couple met on The Bachelorette and married in 2019.

They were married for four years before he filed for divorce in December 2023.

Lindsay broke her silence on the split at the time during an episode of her Higher Learning Podcast, saying she “didn’t think [she] would get emotional.’

She shared with her podcast listeners, “First of all, I want to thank the people who have reached out to me. I’m still trying to get back to people. You never know how amazing your circle is until you see all those people reaching out to you and loving you.

“It’s obviously a difficult time, if you read the headlines, and you’re probably wondering why I would want to work at all,” she added.

“But honestly, I need to distract myself from myself and the best way to do that is to do something that I love and that I enjoy in higher education,” she continued.

She said she would explain the reason behind the split “eventually”, adding that “now is not the right time” as she is “just trying to take it day by day”.
