America’s most patriotic family? Father and son drape entire house with American flag for July 4th
A father and son from Louisiana decorated their home with a huge American flag to celebrate the Fourth of July.
John Beard and his son Jayden draped the colossal Old Glory over their home to show their patriotism.
The 50-foot-tall, 60-pound flag was a gift from a Marine who served four tours in Iraq.
The Beards didn’t have a flagpole tall enough to display the giant Old Glory, so they meticulously laid the pole across their house.
“It’s very emotional for me. We just love our country, that’s all. I just hope that one day, the Fourth of July, everyone can just come together and remember America,” John said WBRZ.

‘Ladder, rope and tackle, get it up and put it over it, then unfold it and put it up and secure it, and that’s how we try to be as respectful to the flag as possible.’
The Navy veteran who gave them the flag gave it as a going-away gift when the family moved from Tennessee to Louisiana.
“We’re really good friends, he had the flag and he wanted to do something with it but didn’t know what, so basically my son here said let’s put it on the house, so we did,” John said.
Jayden told Fox & Friends He helped him and his father with the project.
John said the community response has been mostly positive, but some people have complained about their display online

“They were all for it,” Jayden said. “I’m very much for it. [love my country]and I agree with my father’s choice, what he is doing to cover the house.’
“The flag symbolizes my freedom, everyone’s freedom of expression, to be able to hang this flag without any repercussions.”
According to John, the response from the community has been mostly positive, but some people have complained about their exhibition online.
“In our neighborhood, everyone loves it, absolutely phenomenal. There has been a bit of backlash online,” John said.
