Travis Kelce reveals he turned down Netflix docuseries, eight years after starring in dating show: ‘I’m way over the reality s***’
Travis Kelce said his reality show days are behind him.
The Chiefs tight end, who starred on the 2016 dating show Catching Kelce, said he turned down an offer to appear in a new Netflix docuseries.
The streamer previously announced that the sequel to the hit series Quarterback, titled Receiver, will follow five of the NFL’s best pass catchers and will debut this summer.
The Kansas City superstar was approached for the show after his teammate Patrick Mahomes appeared in the 2023 Quarterback series.
‘After [Patrick Mahomes] did [Quarterback]“I’ve been asked about it,” Kelce said during an interview with Bussin’ with the Boys last month.

“I—I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man,” he continued.
“I’m done with the podcast and everything. I’m over the reality s***, dude. I’m done with that s***.”
After the three-time Super Bowl champion turned down the opportunity, it was announced that the series would follow Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson Vikings, Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers teammates George Kittle and Deebo Samuel.
Kelce, whose fame skyrocketed in 2023 thanks to his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, has been busy with his podcast during the off-season.
He cited New Heights as one of the reasons he couldn’t participate in the reality show, nearly a decade after competing on the E! dating series.
The 34-year-old was just 25 when he agreed to film the seven-episode series, which follows his attempt to find love from a group of 50 women, one from each state in the United States.
“I don’t really look back on the Catching Kelce era,” he admitted in an interview with WSJ magazine last October.

Kelce said he’s proud to call Swift his “lady” as he opened up about their relationship
Kelce and Swift have grown stronger as a couple over the past year
He has since revealed that he is happier than ever with the Love Story singer, although dating the world’s most famous woman has its challenges.
“You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything. That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my lady, so it’s like… I’m proud of that,” Kelce said during the interview on Bussin’ with the Boys.
“I’m not sitting here thinking, ‘How can I keep this a secret?’ You just don’t want everyone coming into your private life and being able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is going to be in the headlines.”
He also revealed the most surprising thing about his relationship with the Cruel Summer hitmaker: ‘[Paparazzi] has been the craziest thing. Definitely driving to the house, just randomly, I don’t know.
He continued, “It’s a different demographic than the NFL, so it was cool to dive into that and see her following and everything. It was fun because there’s a lot more kids in the game and the Chiefs fans have become a lot of her fans. And her fans have become Chiefs fans, so I’ve had fun with every aspect of it.”
