The wife of AFL star Jeremy Finlayson has opened up about the latest developments in her battle with cancer after first being diagnosed at the age of 25.
Social media influencer Kellie Finlayson took to Instagram on Monday to further document her complex journey, which has made her a source of inspiration.
‘Today marks two years since I woke up in intensive care after spending hours on the operating table,’ she placed them.
‘Today I already gave a Workplace Program, had a massage and now I’m sitting in the waiting room of the physiotherapist for a problem that has nothing to do with it… [so] wild.
I am also recovering from a cold [go little immune system] and just visited this month’s Scanxiety check-in.’
Kellie, 28, has been battling bowel and lung cancer since they were diagnosed in November 2021 following the birth of her child Sophia.
After it was announced that her original diagnosis had been changed from stage 3 to stage 4, surgery, chemotherapy and other treatments followed.
In January of this year, Kellie started another six months of chemotherapy, but her husband said that has now stopped.

Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson admitted his wife Kellie’s terminal cancer diagnosis in 2021 has impacted his football career
The soccer star said his wife has stopped her chemotherapy and radiation treatments and is now putting her faith in alternative medicine.
Kellie has previously said that both chemotherapy and alternative therapies have helped slow the spread of her cancer, which cost her “100 percent” of her first year as a mother to Sophia.
“I went into early menopause. Whether I’ll ever come back from that, I don’t know,” she said in March of last year.
“That was honestly my biggest struggle, knowing that I might not have any siblings for Sophia, which is so hard. We always planned on having a big family.
“It’s just something I’ve always wanted. It was the hardest pill to swallow of all the pills I’ve taken in the last 18 months.”
Port Adelaide star Finlayson said the turmoil of recent years had taken its toll and affected his football career.
“I tried to keep a brave face despite everything,” he said.
“When I see how strong Kellie is, and how she tries to be her rock and how she manages to put a smile on her face on the football field for her and Soph.”

‘As long as [the cancer] “If I’m being maintained, I feel like I have the potential to live a very long life. I can see Sophia’s 21st birthday!” she told News Corp.
“I hope to see her first day of school. That’s years away, but it’s taking longer than I expected when I first heard the diagnosis.”
