Where to get Fantasia for free in FFXIV

You can get two free Fantasias in Final Fantasy 14from the launch of Dawn trail‘s 7.0 update.

In the past you had to do most An empire reborn to claim your first free Fantasia, but now you can get one starting at level 17.

Below we explain where you can get the free Fantasia in FFXIV.

What are Fantasias in FFXIV?

Fantasias are one-time potions that allow you to completely change the appearance of your character. If you want to change races, faces, or other features, you need a Fantasia. (For haircuts and face paint, just call the beautician.)

Normally you have to pay $10 per Fantasia, with bundles being slightly discounted, but you can grab a few for free in-game.

Where to get Fantasia for free in FFXIV

You get a Fantasia for free completing the main scenario missions in A reborn empirebecause it is a reward for completing the level 50 mission ‘The Ultimate Weapon’.

There is also an easier method (as of patch 7.0) by complete level 17 ARR main scenario quest “The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.”

For this last method, after completing the quest, go to Ul’dah – Steps of Thal and talk to the Medicine Merchant NPC north of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange and accept the quest “Bottled Fantasy”.

After you make a quick delivery, this robed NPC will give you a free Fantasia for your time. Nice.

How to use Fantasia in FFXIV

There are just a few steps to use a Fantasia:

1. Use the Fantasia item in your inventory.
2. Unplug everything from your character. They can still have their weapon equipped. (And maybe find a private spot so you don’t log back in the middle of New Gridania completely naked.)
3. Log out.
4. Select your character from the usual login screen and select ‘re-edit character’.
5. Make any changes you want to your character.
6. Log in again.

From 7.0 Dawn Path patch, you can make changes to your character within an hour of gameplay time since the first initial character edit. The hour timer does not run out if you are logged out, so you have plenty of time to look at your character in different environments and scenarios before you lock in your decision.

You can also use the Fantasia and simply choose not to edit your character, allowing you to keep the ability to edit it for as long as you want. Fantasias don’t expire.
