Drew Carey calls out The Price Is Right contestants as frequently being high or drunk as he spills wild secrets of the show
Drew Carey has given new meaning to the signature phrase “come on!”
The 66-year-old television personality — who recently spoke about his euphoric experience seeing Phish at The Sphere in Las Vegas — revealed that contestants on The Price Is Right are often drunk and high.
Drew recently revealed in an interview that contestants often go under the influence to prepare for the camera TV insider.
The comedian explained, “Oh, that happens all the time around here. They’re taking a gummy or I can smell alcohol on their breath. Not unusual.’
He then told a funny story about one of the participants who had turned to psychedelics, as they both had similar backgrounds.

Drew said, “There was a guy here who tripped over mushrooms. He came with a bunch of friends. He was a sketch [comedy] boy. I found out later when I went to UCB [sketch improv theater, United Citizens Brigade] to hang out and they said, “Did you see that guy who claimed to be a skateboarding rabbi?”
‘I asked him what he did for a living. And he says, “I’m a skateboarding rabbi.” He didn’t think he was going to be picked and he totally stumbled.”
He then shared several secrets from the show, including paying tribute to legendary host Bob Barker by continuing to use his iconic sign-off line: “Help control the animal population, get your pet spayed or neutered.”
Putting his own spin on the signing, Drew also said, “Take care of yourself, especially your mental health; it’s so important, and I love you!’
He explained why he made the move, telling TV Insider: “It’s important to me. I’ve had a rough few years and I’ve had to put my mental health first. It helped me a lot to do that and not succumb to grief or sadness. My therapist and my doctor helped me find tools to avoid complete collapse.
“That’s all it is: tactics and tools you can learn to help your brain stay out of trouble. You can develop an addiction where you feel depressed and don’t know how to get out of it. You normalize it, or you normalize feeling bad about yourself. Life can be so much better with love, forgiveness, boundaries, speaking your mind, speaking your truth and living your truthful life.”
The star emphasized the importance of focusing on your mental health, for example through therapy, psychiatry, reading a book or simply talking to a counselor.
He said: ‘Some people are afraid to do that. They don’t want to come off as weak or overbearing or be called, “Oh, that guy is an asshole. He’s showing his worth and won’t tolerate anything anymore. Why doesn’t he play along like everyone else?” ?” Maybe he or she doesn’t want that. It’s not who they are anymore. People end up trapped and unhappy.

‘There are all kinds of well-researched ways to prevent that from happening to you. Professional therapists and psychologists don’t understand everything, but they do understand a lot. Sometimes therapy helps. Sometimes you read a self-help book or talk to a friend. I feel better being here. So I’m passing it on.’
When Bob Barker passed away in August at the age of 99, Drew undoubtedly had big shoes to fill and talked about how he has tried to carry on his legacy.
The host said, “From the beginning, I wanted to be a good steward. I learned that when I was a church kid. You must be a good steward of the earth, a good steward of your family, and a good steward of your money.
“And I want to be a good steward of the show, so I don’t screw it up from the beginning. I was like, “Don’t mess it up.” I just wanted to make sure it was always on.”
