Payne Haas’ contract with Brisbane is over with the arms support that has reportedly reached agreements with the Broncos to stay with the club until 2024.

Broncos chief Dave Donaghy has confirmed to News Corp that the saga, which will run for five months, has been “unwinded” after Haas management advised the superstar not to test the open market.

Earlier this year, Haas bombed the club by asking for immediate release from his $3 million deal, but the Broncos rejected that plea.

Haas was booed by Broncos fans at Suncorp Stadium shortly after his position became public news, with the club declaring that they would reconsider the situation at the end of the season.

And now the dispute has been resolved, with the player’s management withdrawing its original plan to explore other open market opportunities and advising Haas to stay with Red Hill for another two years.

The U-turn is a big boost for the Broncos, who are now no longer in danger of losing their star player to Sydney’s richest clubs, such as the Roosters.

“Payne is a very important part of our club,” said Donaghy.

‘The contract part has been arranged, and there is commitment from all sides.

“We have a contract for another two years and I know how eager we both want to experience success during that time.

“Payne had another great season and I can see he’s already getting started when the pre-season starts next month.”
