Sunrise host Natalie Barr reveals shock skin cancer diagnosis after admitting she has been too busy to take care of her health
Natalie Barr shocked Sunrise viewers on Tuesday morning when she revealed her recent skin cancer diagnosis.
The Channel Seven star, 56, explained that she discovered a small, persistent ‘pimple’ on her nose and after visiting her dermatologist she was told it was skin cancer.
Natalie’s dermatologist used state-of-the-art AI and Spectra-Scope devices to inspect the blemish and uncover a legion of cancer cells.
“I had a pimple on my nose that wouldn’t go away, and I think it had been a few years since I had a skin check, so I went to the dermatologist,” she said.
“He said it was skin cancer, this little dot on my nose. The good thing is that I got it very early, and it doesn’t require much treatment.’

Natalie went on to explain that the spot is so small that she can have it removed with two non-invasive treatments.
The TV star’s dermatologist used an AI device to detect worrying changes in her skin against a global database.
He then used a laser-induced plasma device called a Spectra-Scope to detect cancer cells on site, before performing a biopsy to confirm it was skin cancer.

“When you saw that graph and it showed it was skin cancer, how nervous were you?” co-host Matt “Shirvo” Shirvington asked Natalie.
‘You’re kind of saying ‘oh my God’. So many Aussies, millions and millions of us, have skin cancer, but it does make you think,” the breakfast show host responded.
Natalie added that she hoped it would be a reminder for everyone to get their skin checked regularly.

It comes after Natalie recently revealed she has been too busy to look after her health and had to set up an exercise station at home to track her exercises.
She admitted in June that she installed a reformer Pilates bed from Your Reformer in her home so she can get a sweat on at any time.
‘This year has not gone entirely according to plan. (Exercise wisely). I have constantly booked classes and then had to cancel due to work/life issues,” she wrote on Instagram.
“So I brought the plan to me. A Pilates reformer in my home! I’ll start slowly.’
