Chelsea manager Graham Potter fears key midfielder N’Golo Kante has suffered another injury ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against AC Milan.
The 31-year-old France international has not played since mid-August after suffering a hamstring injury and Potter hoped his influential pivot would be available soon.
However, on Monday night, he revealed that Chelsea’s medical staff were waiting for test results after Kante broke down during training.

“N’Golo, we’re just waiting — he’s had a reaction in practice, so we’re just waiting for the news of that,” Potter said. “It’s certainly not ideal and it’s disappointing for him and for us. We’ll have to wait and see its magnitude and move forward from there.’
Potter, who also revealed that Hakim Ziyech will not be available for the San Siro game because the Moroccan winger has a sore throat, is hoping for some good news regarding Kante, who remains one of Chelsea’s best players despite his injury problems.
Thiago Silva will make his 100th Champions League appearance on Tuesday night after Potter rested the veteran defender in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Wolves.
