Xbox present at Gamescom 2024 with many games and the ‘largest stand yet’
Xbox has confirmed its presence at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, bringing what it says will be its “largest stand yet”.
The official Xbox account can be found here X/Twitter posted about the publisher’s return to Gamescom from August 21-25, along with a list of upcoming games that can be played now. Xbox states that there is more to come, but the current list as posted by the official account is as follows:
- Age of Mythology: Retold
- Granted
- Ara: Untold History
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hate
- Diablo Immortal
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Fallout 76
- Tower mounted
- World of Warcraft: The War Within

There’s no word yet on which of the above games will be playable or strictly hands-off, but most are close enough to release and – in the case of Tower mounted – had playable versions available at last year’s Gamescom event. As such, it’s easy to imagine that most things here are playable.
Despite the impressive showing, we don’t expect any anticipated upcoming games like Fable or Perfectly dark at this year’s event. Neither has concrete release dates (beyond the former’s vague ‘2025’, as revealed in the latest trailer).
Xbox will be the only one of the three major console manufacturers to attend Gamescom this year. Sony has reportedly confirmed that it will not be attending the event for the sixth time in a row. Similarly, Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that it will skip Gamescom this year “after careful consideration”.
Nintendo would have plenty to show off at Gamescom 2024 given the big Nintendo Direct from a few days ago, but we expect it will likely be full steam ahead preparing its next console, tentatively called Nintendo Switch 2, before calling itself announces major events such as Gamescom again.
