Watch bizarre moment footy star sprays his own genitals in pre-match act that leaves legend of the game stunned
- Mitchell Woods stunned Andrew Johns
- Youngster squirted water into his pants
- Johns was speechless
In scenes rarely seen by footy fans, Andrew Johns was left speechless on Thursday night after being left stunned by an Origin youngster’s pre-match act.
NSW Blues star Mitchell Woods is regarded as one of the best young talents in the game, and Johns sang the halfback’s praises before kicking off at Leichhardt Oval.
“The young NSW halfback Mitchell Woods, I’ve seen him in junior football, he’s an absolute weapon,” Johns began.
“I saw him in the stretches for NSW where Freddy (former NSW coach Brad Fittler) would get different players into their positions. He was an absolute standout. You could see that during training.’
But when Johns turned his attention to fellow Queenslander Coby Black, he was drawn to Woods’ bizarre behavior.

In a strange turn of events, the Blues gun sprayed water into his pants.
“I don’t know what Mitchell Woods is doing there, I just want to cool down,” Johns laughed with his fellow commentators on Channel 9.
Continuing, Johns described Woods as an “electric runner, top speed, as strong as they come.”
Footy expert and Canterbury footy boss Phil Gould said he had labeled Woods as ‘a halfback for the long term’.
“Yes, we signed him for four years,” Gould said.
‘We have invested in him. He is still in school, he is only 18 years old, he has at least another year at this level. And we will be very patient with his development.
“He’ll tell us when he’s ready to move on to higher grades. But he will be playing a bit of Jersey Flegg football at the end of this year and maybe get him a NSW Cup. And from next year he will train full-time, and next season he will be in our top thirty.’
The bizarre move left football legend and immortal Andrew Johns stunned
Woods has been on the books of the Bulldogs since last year after rejecting offers from rival codes to join rugby league.
He attended the Sydney Swans Academy and was named an Under-16 All-Australian in 2022.
Woods helped NSW to a third successive Origin win on Thursday as the Blues defeated Queensland 14-10.
