Britney Spears’s amputee dad Jamie, 71, seen for first time since settling their years-long legal battle as he leaves Louisiana medical center in wheelchair

Britney Spears’ father is reduced and dejected, seen for the first time since they settled their long-running legal battle over the end of the infamous conservatorship that controlled virtually every aspect of her life for more than a decade.

Exclusive photos and video obtained by DailyMail.com and seen here for the first time today show Jamie Spears, 71, in a wheelchair as he visits a medical center about 40 minutes from his home in Kentwood, Louisiana.

Jamie’s right leg was amputated above the knee late last year after he was struck by a bacterial infection that landed him in hospital and almost cost him his life.

Now these images show the toll that illness and years of battling his famous daughter have taken on the once robust Jamie, who has not been pictured in public since late last year.

Previously, Jamie visited two drive-thru pharmacies in Kentwood, the small Louisiana town that once proudly advertised itself as the birthplace of Britney Spears, but where those signs are now long gone.

Driven by a woman who appeared to be his caregiver, Jamie sat in the passenger seat as the pair spent several minutes at the window of two drive-thru pharmacies before driving to the Dollar Store on the edge of town.

Jamie, whose mobility is now severely limited, remained in the vehicle while his helper ran errands.

The pair then made the 40-minute drive from Kentwood to Hammond, about 35 miles away, where Spears had an appointment at North Oaks Medical Center’s Diagnostic Center.

On arrival at the centre, his aide Jamie retrieved the wheelchair he now relies on and pushed him through the centre’s double doors.

About twenty minutes later, he emerged alone, wheeling the chair to his waiting vehicle and wearing blue tape on his left arm, indicating blood was drawn during the brief appointment.

The father-daughter duo’s long legal battle finally came to an end in April with a settlement that requires Britney to pay Jamie’s legal bills, which reportedly total more than $2 million.

It’s been two months since Jamie and his daughter reached a settlement over lingering issues surrounding the end of the conservatorship that controlled virtually every aspect of her life for nearly fourteen years.

The settlement meant avoiding what many had predicted would be a long, ugly and revealing trial over the final payments to the lawyers who helped run the conservatorship and her father’s alleged financial malfeasance and excessive surveillance of Britney.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but legal documents filed in Los Angeles in April confirm that Jamie has been “completely and permanently dismissed as former conservator of the estate” and that Britney will pay her father’s legal fees of $2 million must pay.

Britney was clearly unhappy with the outcome, which saw her fail to hold her father accountable for the “pain” he allegedly caused her over the years, and took to Instagram in the wake of the settlement.

She posted: ‘My family hurt me! There has been no justice and probably never will be!’

Britney was placed in conservatorship in 2008, where her father managed her financial and personal affairs due to concerns about her mental health.

In recent years, #FreeBritney became a cause célèbre with the singer eventually being released from her father and conservatorship control when the arrangement ended in 2021.

But in the years since, concerns about Britney’s increasingly erratic behavior have grown and last month it was reported that family members are pushing for her to be placed under the care of a new conservatorship.

Previously, Jamie visited two drive-thru pharmacies in Kentwood, the small Louisiana town that once proudly advertised itself as the hometown of his pop star daughter.

The 42-year-old singer is accused of refusing her mental health medications while drinking and using other drugs — raising fears of a relapse given her history of substance abuse.

After her short marriage to third husband Sam Ashgari, 30, ended with the couple’s separation after 14 months in August 2023 and a divorce finalized last month, she reportedly allowed her criminal boyfriend Paul Soliz to ‘run her household and her life.’

Soliz, 37, has been charged with multiple felonies and at least one misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm in December 2022.

In September 2023, he was back in court for allegedly violating his probation.

And as fears grow about the health of that relationship, those closest to Britney say she’s impossible to reason with because her “mood swings often turn into fits of rage that end in physical violence.”

Meanwhile, her Instagram posts in which she dances naked or almost naked are causing increasingly disturbing viewing.

Last month, TMZ reported that multiple sources have reached out, concerned that her “mental health is in a downward spiral” and they fear the only way out is to place the mother of two under another conservatorship.

The site claimed she is “in danger of hurting herself or others,” adding, “There are times when we are told it is impossible to communicate with her because she cannot hold a rational conversation.”
