West Brom has fired Steve Bruce as their manager after a dismal start to the season.

The Baggies have parted ways with the 61-year-old after one win from their first 13 games, which puts them in the championship relegation zone.

Backroom staff Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence and Alex Bruce have also left The Hawthorns.

Bruce was appointed as West Brom manager in February this year but enjoyed a disappointing spell at the club, with eight wins from 32 games.

The former Newcastle boss had replaced Valerien Ismael with the Baggies in sixth place in the championship but in poor form, having won one of their previous seven games.

However, Bruce couldn’t turn it around and the West Midlands club finished in 10th place last season, eight points from the play-offs.

The Baggies had hoped for a promotion boost for this season and after the summer signings of the likes of Jed Wallace, John Swift and Okay Yokuslu.

But they have only had one win out of 13 league games so far – a win over Hull, while West Brom also crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League One side Derby.

They are currently nine games without a win, drawing 0-0 against Luton Town on Saturday, with anti-Bruce chants heard by The Hawthorns stalwarts.

Under-21s coach Richard Beale will oversee the affairs of the first team on an interim basis, assisted by Baggies legend James Morrison and Gary Walsh.
