Caitlin Clark fever continues in Indiana as Joey Chestnut sits courtside to watch latest win – one day on from HUGE Netflix announcement

As he watched Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Atlanta Dream, Joey Chestnut probably hoped he could watch her relish the competition like he did.

Unfortunately, most of her shooting consisted of nothing but empty calories in an unusually bad night that still ended with Indiana’s 91-84 victory over the Atlanta Dream.

After enjoying the game, Chestnut spoke with On3 reporter Talia Goodman, discussing his recent ‘ban’ from the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on the 4th of July after deciding to continue his sponsorship with a rival vegan hot dog manufacturer .

“I personally don’t regret it,” Chestnut said. “It’s a shame that things… those contract negotiations have become public.”

As for whether there could be a way for him to work his way back into the field for the famous match, he added: “I’m hopeful that something can be worked out. I must be hungry.’

Chestnut also talked about Wednesday’s big announcement that he would face his longtime rival Takeru Kobayashi during a live Netflix event over Labor Day weekend.

“I’m really excited about the Netflix competition,” Chestnut said. “Kobayashi has always been my biggest rival and I’m very happy to be able to eat against him again.”

Clark capped off her subpar performance with a final statline of seven points, four rebounds, six assists, two blocks and seven turnovers on the night. She shot a measly 3-11 from the field and a paltry 1-6 from three-point range.

Most of the scoring came from teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.

Boston recorded a double-double that night with a team-high 27 points and 13 rebounds. As for Mitchell, she had 24 points, two boards, two assists and two steals.

Atlanta was led by Rhyne Howard’s 26 points that night and had a seriously strong bench performance from Chyenne Parker-Tyus – who posted 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
