Goldie Hawn gets candid about why daughter Kate Hudson thinks brother Oliver Hudson is her ‘favorite’ child
Goldie Hawn is a doting mother of three, but her famous daughter Kate Hudson claims she has a favorite child.
The 78-year-old actress – who recently revealed what first attracted her to longtime love Kurt Russell – said Kate ‘thinks Oliver [Hudson]’is my favorite’ during Kelly Ripa’s Let’s talk about the camera podcast.
“I tried to tell her, ‘You know, no one is really my favorite. … You’re all different,β Hawn responded.
βBut the truth is,β she said, β… [your] firstborn is always one of the most interesting and memorable experiences, especially since you have no other children.
βYou only get one β until you get the second one, if that’s what you’re going to do β and that’s what happened,β Hawn said.

Hawn shares Kate, 45, and Oliver, 47, with ex-husband Bill Hudson, and is mother to son Wyatt Russell, 37, with partner Kurt Russell. The blonde beauty is also stepmother to Kurt’s son Boston Russell, 44.
When the starlet was pregnant with Kate, she shared, “I thought, ‘How can I ever love another child the way I love my firstborn?’
“The answer came when Katie was born, and that is that we have so much love in our hearts that you just can’t even measure it,” the SPF-18 star said, “That’s what happened.”
She went on to share a moment about Kate’s early acting days when interviewers asked about Hawn.
βI told her, ‘The truth is, we need to hug each other,’β she told 53-year-old Ripa.
βI mean, yeah, you’re going to talk about me, and one day I’m going to talk about you. And I’m going to be Katie’s mom, and that could be pretty cool,” she continued.
The mother-daughter duo remains close and publicly expresses their support for each other’s careers.
In honor of Kate’s 45th birthday in April, the Oscar winner posted a nostalgic photo of the two of them on Instagram.
