Fears Ben Affleck has ‘relapsed and is DRINKING again’ amid ‘imminent’ divorce from Jennifer Lopez: Concern for former addict as friends reveal how the singer’s family have now ‘turned against him’

Fears over Ben Affleck’s sobriety are mounting, with some sources claiming he is already drinking again as a divorce from Jennifer Lopez looms.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, friends say the actor – who has battled alcoholism and a gambling addiction for decades – is experiencing ‘acute sadness’ as his marriage collapses.

They claim that 51-year-old Affleck is ‘at risk’ of sliding off the car or is already drinking again.

One says: ‘I hear he drinks. He’s full of demons – a really troubled person.’

While another added: ‘I’ve seen him look glassy-eyed and it’s a real concern for anyone who cares about him.’

The revelation comes as J.Lo insiders also reveal that her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, has now “turned against” Affleck, despite initially encouraging her daughter to rekindle the “Bennifer” romance in 2022 to blow.

I understand that the 54-year-old singer’s manager, Benny Medina, also “openly dislikes” Affleck.

Affleck and Lopez were spotted Sunday night at the $60 million, 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mansion they shared. They spent four hours at the house – which is now reportedly for sale – during a summit meeting.

After Affleck moved into a $100,000-a-month rental in Brentwood in May, J.Lo canceled her entire summer tour in an apparent attempt to save the marriage. But multiple sources now say a divorce is “imminent.”

A source said: ‘I understand he has left the marriage, but she has yet to accept the truth of the situation and thinks they can work things out with therapy.’

“It’s made all the more difficult by the fact that we’re dealing with the emotions of the five children they have together,” the source added. “There are a lot of reasons why it didn’t work out, but when you lose J.Lo’s family, you lose J.Lo. Her mother and her sisters are against him and Benny [Medina] is also.’

J.Lo also recently rekindled her friendship with actress Leah Remini. The pair reportedly had a falling out in 2022 after Remini told her that Affleck was not properly committed to the romance and would end up hurting her.

Another source says, “J.Lo got Ben to wear foundation again and is behind his new look. She’s turbo charged with her cosmetic game and wanted him to come with her. But he actually didn’t like it when they first got engaged, and now it feels stupid.”

Affleck said he first quit drinking in 1997.

He then said: ‘I just wanted to quit. I started to regret some of the things I did when I was drunk. It’s funny to be obnoxious or out of control, but then it’s like, “I think I hurt that person’s feelings,” “I embarrassed myself,” or “I didn’t want to kiss that girl.” . I have virtually no inhibitions, so it’s dangerous for me.’

He sought treatment for alcoholism in 2001 and entered rehab again in 2017 and 2018. The following year there was a setback when he was pictured leaving a Halloween party drunk.

In 2020, he said, “People with compulsive behavior, and I’m one of them, constantly have these kinds of fundamental discomforts that they’re trying to make go away. You try to make yourself feel better with food or drink, sex, gambling, shopping or whatever. But that only makes your life worse in the end.

‘Then you do more to make that discomfort go away. Then the real pain begins. It becomes a vicious circle that you cannot break. At least that’s what happened to me.’
