Ashy Bines, 35, announces shock business closure after being told terrifying health news: ‘The end of an era’
Fans of Ashy Bines are devastated after the fitness influencer announced the closure of her activewear company.
The Queensland mother-of-two launched size-inclusive fitness clothing brand Baseline in 2020, but revealed on Wednesday morning she is closing “that chapter” for her “health and wellbeing”.
Ashy has taken a step back from her business and social media commitments after she was diagnosed with a small brain aneurysm in March.
Many of the 35-year-old’s 999,000 followers left messages of support after she revealed Baseline will cease operations in a move she called “the end of an era.”
The brand was known for its range of comfortable and functional activewear and loungewear, ranging from size 2XS to 3XL.

Under Baseline, Ashy also developed a line of nutritional products, including protein powders and supplements, as well as fitness programs.
“This chapter is closing and part of me is absolutely sad and will miss aspects of this beautiful brand, but I ALL know this is the right choice for my health, wellness and next chapter,” she wrote on Instagram.
Ashy said there are “no words” to express her “gratitude” to everyone who supported the brand, which has received more than 500,000 orders in the past four years.
“It never got old walking into a gym, taking a walk or being in the park and seeing other women wearing my brand. THANK YOU for making this dream come true and being a part of it,” she said.
“It’s been such a ride these past few months and my health scare made me reevaluate everything, but I’m so grateful because I’ve learned so much about myself, about business, what I enjoy, my strengths and weaknesses and in general what I value my life.’

Ashy thanked both her husband Steve and her business partner Levi, who she said had supported her for 15 years and for being “back” when she was forced to take a step back and put her health first after her frightening diagnosis.
“It’s been a wild few months and now, in the run-up to my surgery (in just a few weeks), I’m busy wrapping up and preparing this chapter,” she said.
“This was definitely a difficult decision, but also a very easy one. If you know what you value, you MUST respect it and move in the direction that is right for you.”
She added that shoppers can get the remaining Baseline inventory at “heavily discounted” prices, as everything on the website now costs less than $30.
‘Ah, so many memories, what an incredible journey it has been! I have enjoyed watching you evolve alongside this entity, and this next chapter of your evolution will be just as wonderful!” one fan replied.
“I’m so proud of you for taking care of yourself, taking care of your dog and doing what feels right for you and your family,” said another.

Three months ago, Ashy shared a concerning health update with her fans, revealing that she had been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.
She shared the shocking news on Instagram, revealing it was discovered when she went to hospital after losing her sight.
Ashy posted a video of herself arriving with her family and captioned it with some alarming words: “I’ve lost my vision three times in the last week. Decided to see a doctor because we were starting to worry.
‘I did a CT scan, they found a small aneurysm. Pretty scary because husband Steve had a huge one removed and I have this in my family too. I lost a young uncle and a grandmother to an aneurysm.’
She added that she would be putting her other commitments on hold for now as she focused on getting better.

‘I need to reduce my life, workload and stress. Once we have the results of the MRI, we will discuss what happens next with my aneurysm and what else we can do.’
A brain aneurysm is a weak or thin spot on a blood vessel in the brain that inflates and fills with blood. It can be life-threatening if not treated appropriately.
Fortunately, the survival rate for patients is quite high if they are identified and treated quickly.
Ashy added that she had the full support of Steve and their children Taj and Tala, who had both visited her in hospital.
Many of Ashy’s followers quickly sent her their well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.
‘I’m very sorry! Praying for answers and quick healing for you,” one person wrote, and a second person added, “You are so incredibly strong, my love. Love you a lot.’
‘Oh, how scary. I hope everything goes well,” a third person interjected.
Bines lives on the Gold Coast with her husband Steven, whom she married in 2014, and their two children.
