Miranda Derrick reveals she’s been getting DEATH THREATS since the Netflix documentary Dancing For the Devil… while placing some blame on her family

Dancer Miranda Derrick talks about the death threats she received after appearing in the Netflix documentary Dancing With the Devil.

The 27-year-old dancer was featured in the documentary, which debuted on May 29, and fired back at claims she was in a cult, calling the film “one-sided.”

Now she can be found on Instagram again, but this time she describes the harsh treatment she has received since the film’s debut, including death threats.

She even placed some of the blame on her family, who took part in the documentary, stating that she doesn’t understand why they thought it would help her.

She shared a video with her 1.7 million followers, which began: “Hey guys. I know I don’t normally make this kind of content, but I just wanted to be transparent and a little vulnerable with you.”

“But before this documentary, my husband and I felt safe,” she said, referring to her husband, choreographer James Derrick.

“Now that this documentary is out, we feel like our lives have been put in danger,” she said, detailing the kind of danger they were both in.

“We’ve both been followed in our cars, we’ve both received hate mail, death threats, people sending us messages to commit suicide,” she adds, showing some messages on the screen during the video.

She adds: ‘We have been stalked. Someone said: ‘If I see you on the street, I will come and kill you, so make sure you have security.’

“Someone also said, ‘If I see you on the sidewalk, I’m going to come and push you in the trunk of my car,'” she said, adding that these were just “some of the messages I received behind… the scenes .’

“I honestly don’t understand how my parents and my sister thought this documentary would help me or our relationship in any way,” Derrick added.

She added, “I’ve been meeting privately with my family over the last few years to work on our relationship, to make things right, to fix what’s broken, and I’ve enjoyed it.”

“I loved getting together, laughing and just enjoying each other’s company, and this documentary has made it very difficult to continue to do that,” she added.

“Honestly, I think my parents, my sister, focused so much on this documentary that they forgot to work on a relationship with me. And that hurts, that hurts me to say,” she admitted.

“I’ll be completely honest, it’s been hard to post my content and pretend like nothing ever happened because it just didn’t,” Derrick added.

“So if things slow down and I don’t post as much, just be patient, I will get through this, I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I will get back to posting and dancing and doing what I absolutely love, ‘ she said.

“It just brings me so much joy, so I’d like to get back to that,” she said, adding that she also wants to thank, “everyone who has been supportive,” adding the kind words, “don’t go unnoticed.” ‘

Miranda’s sister Melanie Wilking, who Miranda used to dance with as The Wilking Sisters on TikTok, went viral in 2022 when she took to Instagram Live with her parents and said they hadn’t spoken to Miranda in more than a year.

Last week, Miranda further confused fans when she attended her sister’s wedding just after claiming she wasn’t a victim of a cult.

Melanie also told Access Hollywood that while Miranda claimed it was a “one-sided” documentary, the filmmakers contacted them “many times” but “declined every time.”
