Ryan Reynolds takes his mom to The View to make her ‘dream’ come true – and jokes he dropped his wife Blake Lively’s name to get tickets

Ryan Reynolds loves to keep his mom happy, and he’s not ashamed to drop his wife’s name to do so.

The actor, 47, who has hinted at a surprise guest role in the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, sat quietly in the front row with his mother, Tammy, as Whoopi Goldberg surprised the studio audience.

“You never know what’s going on here on The View,” the moderator said mid-show on Monday.

“You know, sometimes you look up and you think, ‘Oh, this is really great.’ And then you look over and say, “Oh, snap! There’s Ryan Reynolds!” in the clip shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The actor smiled and waved at the hosts.

“Just out of curiosity,” Goldberg began, “this doesn’t happen often… what are you… how does that happen?” she asked.

“Well, okay, okay, this is a lot less stressful than up there, by the way,” he told the panel.

“My mom is here visiting her grandkids… and yesterday she said, ‘My dream is to go on The View,’” he explained.

“Oh, my God,” one of the hosts exclaimed.

“First of all, I try to do what she says, because you don’t know what she’s capable of. Just unspeakable violence, all my life,” the Welcome to Wrexham star joked.

“So I didn’t want to taste the back of her hand, so I said, ‘let’s go to The View.’

“We called and said, ‘I’m Blake’s husband, I’d like to come on The View, are we any further along with that?’ and then here we are,” he explained, referring to his wife and fellow actor Blake Lively, 36.

“You know, sometimes you look up and you're like "Oh, this is really great." And then you look back and you go "Oh no! There's Ryan Reynolds!"said Whoopi Goldberg

He turned to his mother and told the audience, “I think my mom thought she was going to be on The View, maybe, I’m not sure,” to which Tammy laughed and said the word “no.”

“Hey mom, are you watching the show,” Sunny Hostin asked.

“Every day,” she replied. Right now it’s being recorded (at home),” she shared as the audience applauded.

“You’re always welcome, Mama Reynolds, so are you,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said.

“Can we get a deal on Mint Mobile?” asked Ana Navarro.

“Absolutely,” the founder replied, “but it’s already a deal, Ana, come on.”

“I love that commercial,” said Ana Navarro.

“And tell Blake to come,” Griffin joked. “Ready, okay,” the actor quickly responded.
