Kamala Harris reveals what she thinks about Donald Trump’s search for a running mate and that he ‘doesn’t want another Mike Pence’
Vice President Kamala Harris says Donald Trump’s litmus test for a running mate in the 2024 election is someone who shows absolute loyalty to the former president.
While there are still nearly a dozen Republican politicians in the closely watched Republican veep stakes, Harris only mentioned the name Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.).
She also made it clear in a interview with Politico Playbook On Monday she published that she is prepared to debate Trump’s VP choice this summer.
“I plan to go to the CBS studios in July or August,” the vice president said. “And let’s see if the other side shows itself.”
She added: “I’m ready to make the case – whoever he chooses, no matter who it is.”

CBS News suggested a debate for the vice presidential candidates on July 23 or August 13.
Trump accepted an invitation from Fox News on behalf of his yet-to-be-announced running mate for a debate, which competes with the CBS proposal.
President Joe Biden’s second-in-command said Trump does not want to pick someone like his previous vice president, Mike Pence, who was willing to question the former president’s actions and motives — especially when it came to accepting the outcome of the 2020 election. and the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

Among the seven confirmed to Trump’s shortlist for his 2024 ticket are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Sens. Reps. Tim Scott (S.C.) and Marco Rubio (Fla.), and J.D. Vance (Ohio). Byron Donals, Elise Stefanik (NY), and his former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Ben Carson.
Some speculate that Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.) and Kari Lake are also still under consideration, while South Dakota Gov. Speaking about Trump’s potential to pick Rep. Donalds as his vice president, Harris cited the congressman’s comments last week at a campaign event in Philadelphia, claiming that black families in America were stronger during the Jim Crow era era.
“It’s unfortunately yet another example of someone from Florida trying to erase or rewrite our true history,” she said, referring to Donald’s recent comments and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ interventions on Black history curricula.
“Last July I went to Florida to talk about what they were trying to do to replace our history with lies. And apparently from that state comes a never-ending stream of things like that,” she continued.
