David Beckham treats himself to a can of Stella while planting roses – as fans beg the BBC to give him his own gardening show
David Beckham treated himself to a can of Stella while gardening at home – well, he’s a brand ambassador of course.
The sportsman, 49, artfully placed the drink on his fence as he shared his new journey into gardening.
Fans have begged the BBC to give him his own gardening show, calling him a ‘human golden retriever’ after he gave an insight into life at home.
On Saturday, David shared a video of himself planting a Queen of Sweden rose bush as his wife Victoria, 50, gave him words of encouragement.
The star athlete’s fans were quick to clue him in on where he went wrong, prompting him to share another video the next day of him planting a second rose bush – and thanking supporters for their tips.

On Saturday, David shared his debut gardening post on social media, featuring a collection of clips filmed by Victoria.
“He likes gardening,” Victoria was heard saying.
“Do you think that’s deep enough?” David asked, before Victoria replied: “Looks like this.” I mean, I’m not really the one to ask. Try it.’
In a second clip, David held up the plant and said: ‘Queen of Sweden, English bush rose. Shouldn’t it be an English rose bush?’
The next video showed him struggling to get the plant out of the pot he bought it in, with the soil crumbling everywhere.
“Here we go, some action,” Victoria said. “Oh, it’s crumbling.” David then patted the ground around the plant and said, “That’s impressive, by the way.”
“It’s impressive,” Victoria replied. ‘Very impressive.’
The next day, David shared another video, this time filmed by himself, in response to the one from the day before.

He said: ‘Following my somewhat amateurish attempt at planting my shrubs yesterday, I sought some advice from a few people who commented on my somewhat amateurish plating and my attempt to get my Queen of Sweden out of the box. Guess what? They were right. Let’s see.
David then started hitting the sides of the new plant pot before removing the rose bush. ‘Who knows?’ he said to the camera. He then planted the rose bush before covering it with soil.
David added: ‘Who would have thought it was so easy to get the Queen of Sweden out of the box?
