In her memoir, Demi also reflected on her relationship with Jon, saying she believed she was his first sexual partner – a claim Jon later disputed.

Well, the good thing about this is that she doesn’t have to feel bad about it anymore, because while I’m sure she was completely justified in making that assumption based on my skill level (and the bemused look on my face at the time ), I actually lost my virginity in high school,” he said tweeted.

‘But she’s right [about] the other part I was over the moon for her during a very difficult time in her life. I have nothing but affection for her and no regrets,” Jon added.

He echoed this sentiment during his People interview, saying, “She was incredibly charismatic and had a much better understanding of the business than I did.”

He added: She knew everyone in town, but we were both very nervous about starring in a movie for the first time.

‘It was already clear what would always be great about her; that incredible combination of vulnerability, toughness and beauty.’

The Brat Pack, a group of young actors who were prominent in the 1980s – including Demi, Andrew, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald and Rob Lowe – became cultural icons known for their roles in coming-of-age films that captured the essence of youth and rebellion.

Demi revealed that the production of St. Elmo’s Fire “paid to have a sober companion with me 24/7, for the entire duration of the shoot.”

She also praised Schumacher, expressing her gratitude for his support and acknowledging that he took the risk to support her.

“They could have just found someone else,” she said. “Because it’s not like I had a cash draw. You know, we were all just getting started.

“I didn’t have anything that really justified him staying with me.”

Jon also commented on the Brat documentary, telling People, “I didn’t see myself as part of the ‘Brat Pack’ because I didn’t think I was one of the cool kids.

“And they were definitely the cool kids. I thought the two films that defined the group were The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire, and I wasn’t in either of them.”

After her role in St. Elmo’s Fire, Demi continued to build her career with notable films such as Ghost (1990), A Few Good Men (1992) and Indecent Proposal (1993).

Cryer gained recognition for his portrayal of Duckie in Pretty in Pink (1986) alongside Ringwald.
