Secret Service agents demanded Hunter’s firearm purchase form from a gun shop owner β€” despite the Bidens not qualifying for their protection, new FBI documents show

Secret Service agents intervened in the 2018 case involving Hunter Biden’s gun β€” even though the Bidens were not entitled to their protection at the time, FBI documents have confirmed.

The highly unusual β€” and potentially inappropriate β€” involvement of the agency that protects presidents has emerged in new court documents filed in the federal gun crimes case in Delaware against the First Son.

Anonymous sources have previously claimed in media interviews that United States Secret Service (USSS) agents showed up at a Delaware gun shop where the first son bought a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver in October 2018 – after his sister-in-law and then-girlfriend Hallie Biden. threw it in the trash can of a supermarket.

At the time, the Bidens did not qualify for Secret Service protection, and the agency has repeatedly denied any involvement.

But now the owner of the Wilmington StarQuest Shooters gun shop, Ron Palimere, has given the go-ahead FBI interviewunder penalty of criminal charges, testifying that USSS agents showed up in October 2018 and demanded he hand over the form Hunter had filled out to purchase the gun.

Hunter, who is known to have battled drug abuse, is accused of lying about his addiction on a federal form he used to purchase a firearm on Oct. 12, 2018.

He refused. If Palimere had handed over the β€œForm 4473,” it is unclear whether Hunter would be facing weapons charges today.

The Secret Service provides lifetime protection to presidents and their families, but vice presidents only receive this benefit while in office. Joe Biden left the vice presidency in January 2017, almost two years before Hunter bought the gun.

The document now forms the basis of the prosecution against him. This shows that in order to purchase the gun, he checked a box stating that he was not addicted to illegal substances. He admitted in his memoirs that he was a “complete addict” of crack cocaine at the time.

Lying on the federal form is a crime.

The federal form was discussed repeatedly this week during Hunter’s trial in Wilmington.

But there has been no mention of the alleged improper involvement of the Secret Service β€” whose agents are in the courtroom to protect Hunter and the members of the First Family who have come to support him.

β€œPalimere believes it was October 24, 2018, when separately the Delaware State Police (DSP) and the United States Secret Service (USSS) responded to StarQuest,” according to an FBI article about Palimere’s interview conducted last week.

β€œThey said the firearm was involved in some case and they wanted to expedite the tracing process and access Form 4473.

‘Both agencies asked the same questions and it turned out that they were not aware of each other’s investigations. Something about the USSS request didn’t seem right, so Palimere contacted (a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent he knew). (The officer) advised Palimere not to hand over the original Form 4473 to anyone and to only hand over a copy if Palimere felt Palimere should do so.”

The FBI interview report was filed last month as part of the evidence in Hunter’s trial in Delaware for lying on his gun form.

The special agent who conducted the interview, Erika Jensen, provided extensive testimony during Hunter’s trial, which began on June 3.

Another StarQuest employee interviewed by the FBI this month, Gordon Cleveland also said that he “heard from the other StarQuest employees who worked the day shifts that the police were visiting the store and that they were making a fuss and not being very nice to Palimere.”

The accounts, now reported in FBI interviews, contradict claims made by the USSS since 2021 that they were not involved in the investigation into Hunter’s alleged illegal weapons purchase.

Sources first revealed the secret service’s suspicious visit to the gun shop on the news site Politics in March 2021.

At the time, the Secret Service told the site that they had no records of agents investigating the incident, telling DailyMail.com that “U.S. Secret Service records confirm that the agency did not provide protection to any member of the Biden family in 2018 , and that the Secret Service was not involved in this alleged incident.”

But emails obtained by the nonprofit Judicial Watch show that internal USSS officials weren’t so sure.

β€œIs it a little strange that we were involved in the missing weapons investigation when Hunter and Joe weren’t even under USSS protection at the time? Hmmm,” an unidentified agent said in the emails.

“Maybe we were asked a favor?” said another.

β€œOh dear…” someone responded.
