Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari ordered not to ‘say anything negative or positive’ about her

Sam Asghari has reportedly been ordered not to speak publicly about his past relationship with Britney Spears.

A month after the former couple finalized their divorce by a Los Angeles County judge, nearly two years after they got married, sources said TMZ that he was “pretty much given a gag order when it comes to” what he can say about the pop star, 42.

The insider noted that this applies to “anything negative or even positive about her.”

This means fans shouldn’t expect to hear him talk about their time together or breaking up as he appears in Peacock’s murder mystery competition, The Traitors, in which he will compete against Tom Sandoval, Chrishell Stause and more for up to $250,000.

Despite Spears reportedly not wanting to hear her name out of his mouth, the 40-year-old, who she first met in 2016 during the filming of the singer’s Slumber Party music video, has only voiced his support for her since they called it quits .

In March, he revealed that he cherishes his memories of the Lucky hitmaker.

‘It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” he said Peopleat the time.

Asghari continued, “I’ve never understood when people break up [and] they talk bad about each other. I’m never going to do that, because I’ve had nothing but a great experience and a great life.’

In August 2023, Sam broke his silence after filing for divorce by posting an emotional message on his Instagram.

“After six years of love and devotion to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote.

He continued, “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always,” adding, “S**t happens.”

When Britney first discussed the end of their 14-month marriage in August, she told her 42.1 Instagram followers that she was “a little shocked.”

The mother-of-two further admitted that she would ‘love’ to show her ’emotions and tears’ online, but always feels the need to ‘hide’ her ‘weaknesses’.

In October, he responded to Spears’ comments about him in her tell-all memoir The Woman In Me.

In response to being called a “gift from God” in his ex’s book, Asghari said the description made him “smile to be honest.”

In her memoir, Spears only has nice things to say about her former partner.

“I appreciate how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote of Asghari.

The Grammy winner also credited her former lover with giving her the strength to speak out against her “abusive” 13-year conservatorship.

During her public hearing in June 2021, Spears said Asghari “squeezed” her hand as a sign of his support.

“I look up to him — his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how to take care of each other,” she said. “He is such an inspiration and I am grateful.”
