New Netflix Trailer for Arcane Season 2 Teases New Heroes, Another Possible Time Skip, and Vi’s Updated Costume
Try to control your emotions, Arcane fans, but we just got another exciting look at the second season of the critically acclaimed Netflix show.
After debuting as part of a new one Next on Netflix Animation assembly video, Arcane The latest batch of Season 2 footage – all 12 seconds long, which was later posted to the animated series’ social media accounts – teases a lot for the little was revealed. Fans – myself included – are already desperately trying to determine what we can get out of the meager offer we’ve been given.

Luckily, some of the latest footage from the hit Netflix show doesn’t require too much brainpower to determine what’s being shown. Parts of the teaser reveal that Vi will be back with her Hextech gauntlets in tow, and she’ll reunite with a budding ally (or should that be a budding romantic partner?) Caitlyn follows Arcane‘s emotionally stunning season 1 finale. There’s also a very brief glimpse of Jinx, Vi’s estranged sister/the show’s main antagonist, causing an outburst in the YouTube video, but contrary to what some fans have said, isn’t that clip part of one of the sophomores of the best Netflix shows. outing. It’s actually from episode 6 of season 1, where – spoilers – Vi and Jinx reunite for the first time since the life-changing events of episode 3.
Anyway, the brand new footage also shows that Vi will – albeit reluctantly, based on her attitude/body language – become part of the Piltover Enforcers, aka the city’s prosperous, technologically advanced police force. She’ll be joined by Caitlyn, who was already part of the aforementioned group in Season 1, as well as three new Wardens (more on one of them in a moment). Since Vi is a citizen of Zaun – the working-class undercity that Piltover is built over – I don’t think the populace of Zaun, Jinx, or Ekko (the latter being one of Vi’s childhood friends) will take too kindly to her apparent turncoat behavior.
As fascinating as all this is, there is one particularly relevant question Arcane fans’ thoughts on the new Season 2 teaser clip – and it has nothing to do with Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, or Ekko.
Is that Ren, Marcus’ daughter in the new Arcane season 2 clip?
A quick look at the internet later, Arcane viewers – and League of Legends (LOL) fans, on which Arcane is based – are convinced that one of Caitlyn and Vi’s fellow Guardians (the one on the far left of the group’s lineup) is none other than Ren, the daughter of the deceased Enforcer known as Marcus. He was the corrupt head of the Piltover Police Department who died in a firelight bomb explosion (one caused by Jinx) in season 1, episode 7.
If this is an adult Ren, this is a revelation that raises not one, but two big questions: Has Ren followed in her father’s footsteps to get revenge on Jinx for killing Ren’s father? And since Ren was just a child when Marcus died, will Arcane season 2, like its predecessor, feature a time jump?
Personally, I don’t think this is Ren. It’s possible it’s her mother, which would be more appropriate if Arcane season 2 picks up in the immediate aftermath of the season 1 finale. A time jump would mean we’d also get an elderly Caitlyn and Vi – not much, granted, but they certainly wouldn’t still look as young as they did in season 1 if the successor would move years in the future.
Netflix, riot games (LOL And Arcane‘s creator) and Fortiche (Arcane‘s animation studio) keep their story plot cards terribly close to their chest, so we won’t get answers to the above until the series’ second season debuts on the world’s top streaming service. What we Doing however, know that it is Arcane Season 2 will be released sometime in November 2024 and, as voice actor Ella Purnell told me exclusively, Season 2 will be an entry that will “emotionally destroy” fans.
As for other speculation-inducing plagues, a recent one Arcaan The season 2 poster indicated that a fan-favorite character would return, but not as a hero. The first one earlier this year Arcane clip from season 2 suggested a new one LOL villain would also debut in the second episode of the hit show.
