She said the president was likely waiting to meet with her daughter until Hunter met him himself.

“I think Joe has sat back and waited for that to happen for Hunter before he felt comfortable enough to step forward,” she said.

In July, the president and First Lady Jill Biden publicly acknowledged the Navy’s existence in a public statement after the family was outed by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
