Jessica Alba calls leaving The Honest Company like sending ‘fourth child’ off to college and pivots to producing with upcoming female-driven Netflix action movie Trigger Warning

Jessica Alba revealed that she has committed to producing her ‘next chapter’ after recently leaving The Honest Company.

The 43-year-old actress was congratulated by 49-year-old Jimmy on Monday during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the success of The Honest Company, which she co-founded in 2012.

Jimmy noted that Jessica recently hired a new CEO for The Honest Company, which produces safe, eco-friendly baby, beauty and cleaning products.

“Yes, I have Carla Vernón, and she runs the company, and it’s great. And there is a whole senior leadership team that is fantastic,” says Jessica, who announced last month that she would be stepping down from her role as Chief Creative Officer.

“I feel like it’s my fourth baby and I’m excited to send him off to college,” added Jessica, who has three children with husband Cash Warren, 45.

Jessica said she was ready for her “next chapter.”

Jimmy asked what she was going to do next and Jessica said she was into entertainment and wanted to produce more.

She was on the NBC talk show to promote her upcoming Netflix action film Trigger Warning, in which she stars and is also an executive producer.

The Dark Angel star said she loves action work and stunts.

Jessica said the producers of John Wick and Sicario also produced Trigger Warning.

“And I was like, I want to have a grounded, cool, female-driven action movie. And so the director was a woman and the writer who made The Last Pass was a woman. The producers were women. The DP is a woman. Set deck ladies. And so we had a lot of department heads in a genre that is quite male-dominated,” Jessica said.

‘The worst people I know are women. I mean, we’re giving birth. So I thought, ‘Why can’t we sit here and do this genre?'” Jessica said.

‘And it was so much fun. “I loved it,” she added.

Jessica said that Trigger Warning follows her character Parker who goes home after her father dies.

‘And it doesn’t smell good. Things just don’t really add up. And she’s a Special Forces commando. She was on active duty when she was pulled out,” Jessica said.

Jessica added that her character digs up local illegal gun trafficking and takes on a gang on her own.

Trigger Warning premieres on Netflix on June 21. The film also features Sixteen Candles star Anthony Michael Hall, 56, who plays Senator Ezekiel Swann, a powerful politician.

The production companies for the film are Santa Monica, California-based Thunder Road Films, which previously produced John Wick, The Town and Sicario, as well as Lady Spitfire, which Jessica announced she had founded in February.

Jessica graced the cover of Forbes magazine in 2015 in an issue titled America’s Richest Self-Made Women, while her fortune was estimated at $200 million.

The Honest Company quickly achieved a $1 billion valuation after its founding in 2012, with the actress owning a 15 to 20 percent stake.

Jessica has daughters Honor, who will soon turn 16, and 12-year-old Haven, as well as six-year-old son Hayes with Cash.
