Kylian Mbappe ‘SIGNS Real Madrid contract’ ahead of joining the Spanish giants as a free agent – as French superstar gets set to bring an end to long-running transfer saga after PSG exit
Kylian Mbappé has reportedly signed his contract to join Real Madrid as a free agent next season.
Mbappe, 25, told PSG in February that he will leave the club when his contract expires this summer.
The forward has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid and almost joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2022 before making a late U-turn and penning a new contract with the Ligue 1 side.
However, he will finally represent the Spanish giants after Fabrizio Romano reported that everything had been agreed, saying Mbappe had penned a contract with the club.
In a video on his X account, the Italian said: ‘Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid… HERE WE GO.

‘The story is finally over. Kylian Mbappé will join Real Madrid as a free agent at the end of the season.
‘The contract has been signed, the announcement will happen very soon, in the coming weeks, but Real Madrid will have another star in the squad.
‘Kylian Mbappe comes over from PSG and it is a historic HERE WE GO.’
A move to the Bernabeu will finally put an end to the speculation that has followed Mbappe throughout his career.
In February it was reported that Real – who won the Champions League on Saturday – had reached an agreement with Mbappe, which would see the forward move on a free transfer in the summer, with a signing fee of £85.5 million, meaning the Spanish giants will man after a seven-year chase.
However, there has been no official announcement about his future since then, but Mbappe explained in March that one will take place ahead of the 2024 European Championship in Germany this summer, where he will captain France.
‘People will know my future before the euro. I am very calm about it,” he had told Telefoot.
‘My future is no longer a big topic at the club, no one talks to me about it anymore.
‘I’m going to the European Championships with a calm mind, ready to do great things.’
Despite his departure from PSG having been expected since last summer, Mbappé only officially announced his departure on Friday, May 10, when he shared a heartfelt message to the club’s fans.
Despite the constant speculation, Mbappé scored 44 goals in 48 games throughout the season

‘I wanted to talk to you. “I have always said that I would speak to you when the time comes, and that is why I wanted to announce to you all that this is my last year at Paris Saint-Germain,” he said.
‘I’m not going to renew and the adventure will end in a few weeks.
‘On Sunday I will play my last match at the Parc des Princes. It’s a lot of emotion; Many years in which I had the opportunity and the great honor of being a member of the greatest French club – one of the best in the world – which allowed me to come here and have my first experience in a club with a lot of pressure.
“To grow as a player, of course, by being alongside the best players in history, some of the greatest champions; to meet many people, to grow as a man too, with all the glory and the mistakes I have made.
‘It is difficult, and I never thought it would be so difficult to announce that, to leave my country, France, Ligue 1, a championship that I have always known, but I think I needed this : a new challenge after seven years.’
Romano’s claims come next L’Equipe reported on Friday that Mbappe will be unveiled as Real Madrid’s new player on Monday, less than 48 hours after their Champions League final victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
Meanwhile, Mbappe met with fans during training with France on Thursday and even signed one lucky person’s Real Madrid shirt – a clear sign that this deal will be completed soon.
Earlier this week it was also reported that the relationship between PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the outgoing Mbappe remains strong despite claims that a disagreement arose over the terms of his departure as a free agent.
Both the club and the player have previously stated that there is an agreement that respects PSG’s huge investment in Mbappe’s development as a player since his £166 million move from Monaco in 2017.
