Jude Bellingham has been praised for his stylish gesture after Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.

The Spanish giants lifted the trophy for the 15th time after getting the best of their German opponents at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Second-half goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr were enough for the LaLiga winners to add even more success to a stunning 2022-2023 season.

Bellingham’s performances for Los Blancos were perhaps the biggest story in a season full of extraordinary highlights.

But the Englishman showed a different side after the final whistle in the capital.

After briefly experiencing the euphoria of becoming European champions for the first time, Bellingham quickly rushed to his former teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who sat dejected on the Wembley lawn.

The pair spent three seasons together at the Westfalenstadion before Bellingham completed his move to the Bernabeu last summer.

Much-touted 19-year-old Bynoe-Gittens replaced Jadon Sancho in the 87th minute of the match with the tie going past Eden Terzic’s side.

Bellingham shared a moment with the former Manchester City academy star before joining his Madrid colleagues who had started their celebrations at the other end of the pitch.

The 20-year-old had one of his quietest nights in the final and struggled to impose himself on proceedings due to his opponents’ determined defence.

The LaLiga Player of the Season still managed to get a few openings, but he rejected a header that would have broken the deadlock before putting a shot wide of the goal line minutes before Vinicius Jr. Madrid’s second scored.
