Robert De Niro sticks the boot into Donald Trump after he was convicted of 34 felonies – but admits concern for his safety from rabid fans of his ex-president nemesis

Robert De Niro has celebrated his arch-enemy Donald Trump being convicted of 34 crimes after uttering insults during the trial.

The Hollywood actor has a long-standing feud with the ex-president and convicted criminal and was more than happy to put the boot in.

But he admitted he worried about his safety as one of the most visible and fierce Trump critics, given the passion of his millions of supporters.

De Niro weighed in on the jury’s verdict in the “hush money” trial on a day Trump mocked him with a deepfake online video.

“I think justice has been served,” he said Variety during an event for his new film Ezra.

“This should never have gotten to this point,” added the actor, who did the voiceover for a Biden campaign ad, agreeing that the verdict could influence the election.

“I don’t want to talk, but I’m so upset about it. I have to say something. This is my country. This man wants to destroy it. Period of time. He is crazy.’

When De Niro was asked if he ever feared for his safety, he said he did, but refused to be intimidated by Trump or threats from his fans.

‘Think about that. It makes me even angrier, but I have to be afraid of being intimidated. And that’s why I said, you’re not going to intimidate us,” he said.

‘People are fed up, they’re going to fight back. That’s not what we’re about in this country.

After calling De Niro a “crazy” following his tirade outside Manhattan Criminal Court, Trump posted a deepfake video that manipulated the actor’s voice to call himself “washed up.”

Trump posted the video from his Truth Social account. It shows De Niro at a press conference hosted by the Biden campaign outside the Stormy Daniels trial, with the same car horn honking that accompanied the original.

Only this time the Academy Award winner calls himself a ‘scared little man’ and a ‘sicko’ with ‘a lot of skeletons in my closet’.

It also insults his status, calls Trump a “real man” and contains crude references to gay sex.

“I don’t know why they made this stage so high. I told them I came straight from the bathhouse and I didn’t have my platform shoes with me,” the actor says in a manipulated voice similar to his own.

‘I’m talking to you today because I’m a scared little man, a washed-up actor with a lot of skeletons in my closet.

“People like me need Joe Biden and power, not because he is good, but because he loves the same sick perversions.”

The manipulated Goodfellas and Godfather Part II actor then says that he is only allowed to “pretend to be tough and powerful on a movie set.”

“If Donald Trump were standing in front of me right now, I would punch myself in the face, get down on my hands and knees…” says the deepfake version of De Niro, with a crude reference in the video posted by the former president.

The deepfake also includes a nod to DeNiro’s appearance on “Meet the Parents,” saying that if Trump is re-elected, “sick people like me will be permanently banished from the circle of trust.”

The crude video comes after DeNiro blasted Trump at the New York press conference after he did a voiceover for a video that portrayed the former president as a “clown” and a potential “dictator.”

‘I love this city, I don’t want to destroy it. “Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but the country, and ultimately he could destroy the world,” he said.

He said that if Trump is re-elected, he will never relinquish power.

‘I can tell you right now. He will never go away. He will never go away. You know that. He will never leave,” De Niro said.

During his performance, he was harassed by Trump supporters.

“We New Yorkers tolerated him when he was just another grubby real estate dealer masquerading as a big player,” De Niro said of Trump.

‘A playboy who worms his way into the tabloids. A clown.’

“But this town is pretty accommodating. We make room for clowns,” the actor continued.

“But not someone like Trump, who will ultimately run the country, that doesn’t work and we all know that.”

Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller followed up with his own press conference in which he labeled De Niro a “washed up actor.”
