Abbie Chatfield reveals the harsh reality of dating in Australia compared to the rest of the world: ‘We have this weird culture’
Abbie Chatfield has described Australia’s dating culture as “sh**ty” and said she is relieved to now be in a “safe” relationship.
Talking on her podcast It is muchAbbie, who is in a romance with Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde, believes it is harder for women these days to find a partner who wants to be in a committed relationship.
“We’re just in this weird dating culture. Especially Australia. I think Australia is known (around the world) for its terrible dating culture,” she said.
‘Very superficial. Very shallow. Very playable. If someone dares to express his feelings, he is almost punished for it.’
The 28-year-old FBoy Island host went on to say that women are often “accused of trying to smother someone or make them think they’re crazy” when they ask for clarity about their relationship status.

‘They are told that they delve too much into things. That’s why no one ever asks for clarification,” she added.
Executive producer Lem Zakharia, who is from Jordan, said she too found it difficult dating Australian men.
‘I completely agree. “I found it really hard when I first came here,” she said.
“I don’t know if it was just because I was dating girls, but it was really just casual dates.”
It comes after Abbie chose to confirm her new boyfriend’s identity with a not-so-cryptic Instagram post during her getaway to Mexico.
In her podcast It’s A Lot, Abbie, who is enjoying a romance with Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde, says the prospect of a committed relationship is low these days.
In the clip, she turned towards the camera in a series of bizarre poses, almost bouncing out of her bikini as she jumped around and shook her bum.
At one point she seductively licked a beer bottle.

Keli Holiday is the stage name of Peking Duk frontman Adam Hyde, who has long been suspected of being Abbie’s new man.
‘Heard this random song from this random new EP and felt inspired to create something in Mexico. Does anyone know the artist? Someone help!’ Abbie teased in her caption alongside the video.
“This is the best hard launch I’ve ever seen…and will ever see,” one person wrote in the comments.
“Lol, this is definitely a hard launch. Nicely done,” said another, while someone else interjected: “This is so ‘omg it’s our song’, except it’s actually his song.”
