A third person has been arrested after a man was shot dead in the front yard of a home while two suspects are on the run.

The 30-year-old man from East Brisbane was arrested by police on Friday evening after being stopped in a vehicle near Riverview.

The man has been charged with murder and will appear in court in Brisbane on Saturday.

Officers also seized items relevant to the murder investigation after two search warrants were executed Friday night.

It comes after a 38-year-old Inala man was reportedly shot dead in the front yard of a house on Cliveden Avenue, in south Brisbane, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In current initial investigations, police (above, on site) believe that five people descended from a Brisbane home in the early hours of Tuesday morning and pumped a single shotgun grenade into the chest of a 38-year-old man in a front yard in a suburb

Another man and woman have already been taken into custody and are yet to be prosecuted.

Police confirmed on Saturday that they were still looking for two male suspects.

Chief Inspector Andrew Massingham initially claimed that four men and a woman armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, and possibly a handgun, were involved in the attack.

“The male deceased was hit at very close range and we believe the weapon involved was a 12-gauge shotgun,” he said Tuesday.

Det Supt Massingham claimed the man had been in a car in front of a house when five people showed up and started attacking another man who lived on the property.

The 38-year-old got out of his car and started to come to the aid of the man when he was allegedly shot.

Police were investigating a dispute between the two men and the five suspects one to two weeks before the shooting.

“There was definitely a lot of conflict between the whole group,” Det Supt Massingham said.

The dispute had nothing to do with a number of recent gang shootings in the south of the city, he added.

The shooting happened across the street from Corinda State School, less than six hours before hundreds of students were due to return to class after the school holidays.

In the same block in the quiet, mainly residential area, there is also a playgroup and a nursery.

The police are calling on anyone with information about the man’s death to contact Policelink or to report anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

Queensland Police released dramatic footage after 11pm on Wednesday of vehicle fires spiraling out of control in an apartment block on Gladstone Road, Dutton Park.

One of the cars is said to be a 2016 Audi A3, police say, which was used as a getaway car after the shooting the previous morning.

Dramatic police bodycam footage shows officers rushing to evacuate residents of the Dutton Park apartment complex as alarm bells go off and a large fire sets fire to seven cars in the ground floor carport.

In the frantic scenes, loud bangs can be heard from the burning vehicles, presumably exploding windows.

Police believe a car was initially set on fire and the fire spread, destroying six others.

Chief Inspector Andrew Massingham said a 26-year-old woman was the first to be arrested in Brisbane’s CBD on the day of the shooting.

Then, around 11pm on Wednesday, a 26-year-old man was arrested at a house in Brisbane’s southeastern suburb of Mackenzie.

Another four men and two women were arrested at the Mackenzie home, which contained an “advanced” meth lab.

Whether the shooting was drug-related is one of the current lines of inquiry.

Investigations continue.
