Jurgen Klopp has told adoring Liverpool fans that joining the club in 2015 was the second best decision he has ever made.

The German has ended his reign at Anfield after nine years in charge, during which he won the Champions League and the Premier League.

On Tuesday evening he said goodbye to the fanbase in ‘An Evening With Jurgen Klopp’ at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool.

The exclusive event, organized by famous Reds fan and comedian John Bishop, was presented by the club in association with AEG and raised £37 for supporters.

Klopp was shot at Liverpool airport with his wife Ulla on Monday, ahead of the emotional event.

And it turns out that marrying his wife is the only decision he has made that is better than signing up for the Liverpool job.

“Apart from marrying Ulla, moving to Liverpool was the best decision of my life,” Klopp told the crowd.

Seeing her in a booth, the crowd serenaded Ulla as she sang her name to Opus’ Live is Life – as they did for her husband.

Ulla is Klopp’s second wife and married the manager in 2005 after his first marriage to Sabine Klopp ended in 2001.

The former social worker met Klopp at the Munich Oktoberfest in 2005, where she was working as a waitress. They moved in together after knowing each other for just three days.

The couple has no children together, but both have sons from their respective first marriages.

They have created a paradise in Mallorca to enjoy after Klopp stepped down as Liverpool leader.

It’s a £3.4 million villa described as an ‘ecological family paradise’ in Santa Ponsa.
