At least ten people have been killed and another 39 injured after a horrific bus crash in Turkey.
An official confirmed that the incident took place on Sunday on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) highway in Yenice, according to reports.
Police, ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene in Turkey’s southern Mersin province after the bus slid into the opposite lane and collided with oncoming traffic.
The intercity passenger bus reportedly entered the wrong lane due to rainy weather, causing it to skid. However, authorities have launched an investigation and the reasons for the crash have yet to be clarified.
The subsequent pile-up involved two other cars and a truck, the Ihlas News Agency reported Xinhua.

The bus was reportedly traveling from Diyarbakir to Istanbul when the tragic incident occurred.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the death toll on X (formerly Twitter) and paid tribute to the victims.
He wrote: “A passenger bus traveling from Diyarbakır to Istanbul collided with two passenger cars and one truck on the highway in Yenice District, Tarsus District, Mersin Province.
“Unfortunately, according to initial findings, 10 (of) our citizens have been killed and 39 (of) our citizens have been injured.
“May God have mercy on our citizens who died in the accident and be patient with their families; I wish our wounded a speedy recovery. My condolences to our nation.”
