McDonald’s Australia quietly adds a surprise crowd favourite dessert to the menu – and it’s here to stay

McDonald’s Australia has launched a global fan favorite dessert Down Under and is so confident it will be a hit it’s here to stay.

The dessert, called ‘McPops’, is a bite-sized donut-style treat, filled with ‘deliciously gooey fillings’ and finished with a dusting of icing sugar or cocoa.

The small treats in chocolate, berry and cookie flavors will be available nationwide from Wednesday, May 29.

The Choc McPop is a mini cocoa donut with chocolate filling, sprinkled with cocoa.

The Berry McPop is a pink donut with a red berry filling and sprinkled with sugar, while the Biscoff offering is a regular donut with Biscoff filling, finished with a layer of sugar.

Lancy Huynh, marketing manager for McDonald’s Australia, seemed excited about the upcoming product launch.

“McPops are a fun and affordable snack, packed with warm sweetness, that we expect our customers will love,” they said.

The fan favorites debuted in Spain, where they quickly turned heads – and are now appearing on menus around the world.

Customers can add a single McPop for $1.50 or two McPops for $2.50, with the purchase of any McCafé drink.

McPops will be available in Australia from Wednesday 29 May 2024 at McCafés nationwide, including via drive-thru, the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery, and will be part of the permanent McCafé menu
