Joanna Gaines got emotional as her son, Duke, turned 16 and also got his driver’s license in a new Instagram post uploaded on Saturday.
The Fixer Upper star, 46 – whose husband Chip Gaines recently faced backlash after claiming that “everyone has money” – could be seen decorating ahead of a birthday party for her third eldest child.
The TV personality shares Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 16, Emmie, 14, and Crew, five, with husband Chip – who she tied the knot with in 2003.
She captioned the film to her 13.7 million fans and followers: “Third time doing this and it still makes mommy cry. #16.’
At the beginning of the video, Joanna filmed some of her children and herself lighting up blue, green and white balloons near the kitchen and living room of their home.

She shared a special montage shot by husband Chip Gaines as their son officially passed his driver’s license test
At one point, Gaines was seen stepping onto the rectangular table to hang a “Happy Birthday” sign from the lamp above.
She then turned the camera to get a better look at the neat living space with a brown leather sofa and a plush rug.
Then a photo appeared during the special montage Chip made when their son officially passed his driver’s license exam.
The text added to the selfie, which showed the father of five flashing a proud smile, read: “He passed!”
The video then jumped to Joanna standing in the middle of a long driveway as she waved at a vehicle apparently driven by the 16-year-old.
During the course of the clip, the song titled Good Times Go By Too Fast by Dylan Scott played in the background.

The mother-of-five also revealed that her children are very supportive, saying: “They encourage me when I walk out the door and say, ‘Mom, you’ve got this. Just be yourself, have fun.’ Sometimes I feel like they are the parents.’
Last year, Joanna and husband Chip reached a big milestone of their own, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.
