Elvis Presley’s personal Bible from Graceland up for auction … found on singer’s nightstand when he died
An edition of the Bible that once belonged to Elvis Presley – and was on his bedside table when he died on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42 – is being auctioned off.
The bid for the Holy Bible (World Edition) is $30,000 according to the current bid GWS Auctionsadding that a live auction will begin on May 25.
“The Bible is engraved in gold with ‘Elvis Aaron Presley’ and contains a large number of book-marked pages and underlined passages that apparently spoke to Elvis,” the auction house said in a description of the unique item. .
Among the underlined passages, according to the auction house, is a passage from the Book of Job, 31:24-26.
The passage reads: “If I have made gold my hope, or said to the fine gold, Thou art my trust; If I rejoice because my wealth is great, and because my hand has obtained much; When I saw the sun when it shone, or the moon when it walked in brightness.’

The Bible in the auction lot includes “a handwritten letter from Elvis’ cousin Patsy Presley, with whom he was very close,” according to the organizers.
The letter reads: “Shortly after Elvis passed away, my Uncle Vernon (Elvis’ father) and I went to Elvis’ bedroom at Graceland to organize and pack many of his personal belongings.
‘This Bible was one of three that Elvis had on his bedside table. After I packed them up, Uncle Herman had them taken for safekeeping and eventually gave them to me.”
It is notable that the owner of the auction house is Brigitte Kruse, Priscilla Presley’s former business partner. TMZ reported on Tuesday.
Priscilla has been sued by Kruse, who said in legal documents that her work for the star prevented Priscilla’s “financial ruin and public embarrassment.”
In the court papers, filed last September, Kruse said she put Priscilla in charge of her business and personal affairs at a critical time when the celebrity was dangerously low on money.
Kruse said Priscilla was “about 60 days away from financial collapse” when she came in and got her affairs in order.
Kruse, who is suing for breach of contract, said Priscilla stopped all contact with her in August 2023 and did not compensate her for the money she made on projects she worked on.

The Bible auction comes at what appears to be a turbulent time for the show business family, as the Graceland estate in Memphis is set to be foreclosed on Thursday.
Elvis’ granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, 34, who is the current owner of Graceland, is challenging the sale with a lawsuit, claiming it is “fraudulent” and disputing the authenticity of signatures on loan documents from her late mother Lisa Marie Presley.
