Anthony Albanese’s racks up $1.3million taxpayer bill in just three months – here’s what he spent your money on

Anthony Albanese cost Australian taxpayers more than $1.3 million in expenses over a three-month period, with almost half a million spent on international jet setting alone.

The prime minister, who was nicknamed “Airbus Albo” because of his frequent foreign trips, spent $421,498 on hotels, taxis and dinners during foreign trips between April and June 2023.

The eye-watering figure was published in the latest report from the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority.

Mr Albanese has charged taxpayers more than $154,000 for the ASEAN-Australia Summit and the East Asia, G20 and APEC Summit in November 2022.

The second most expensive trip was for King Charles’ coronation in London, which cost just under $130,000, with $93,419 spent on meals and accommodation.

Last week, Mr Albanese sparked outrage after visiting the Hawthorn AFL team in their dressing room, as the Aussies continue to struggle with the cost of living.

“People are struggling to pay the bills and this guy is talking about the footy,” said one.

“The last time you were in Tassie I remember you being heckled with ‘let’s talk about housing Prime Minister’ and you couldn’t run away fast enough. It’s gotten worse since then and here you are, back in selfie mode. God you’re uninspiring,” said another.
